PNC Bank

"The VP branch manager was lovely when we opened our account… it took over 2 hours but she was very friendly and fun… but that’s pretty much where the fun stops. Any time we deposited a check they put a week long hold on it. We went to the branch and that same lovely VP of the branch was again super friendly… but swore she had no idea why the holds were being placed but just couldn’t do anything about it… so I go home, call the 800 number, get the right department and after several hours and several calls I was able to get the hold removed and we went back the same day and got our money and closed our account. What I want to know is why I am able to get the hold removed and the Vice President of the bank can’t… either she’s playing dumb or PNC has ridiculous practices. Either way this bank is not for us. We can’t run a business like this."

"I spoke with Isaiah, whom was willing to help me after a complete run around at the 888# and the 800# . I did not want anyone to GIVE me any information - I just wanted a fax or email to send in proof of insurance for a mutual customer. Thank you again Isaiah for going above and beyond what is required! Isaiah, you should train the call center people on customer service!"

"Very slow agent reps. That lady who sits by the window should accommodate to in-store customers first instead of just leaving her colleague in the middle to deal with a long line of customers. Lunch break wasted…."

"I tried to use their ATM machine. It wouldn't receive cards. I went inside hoping there would be another machine in the lobby, and there was not. A manager appeared and said to hold on a moment. He went in the back, re-appeared, and told me the problem was fixed. I was dumb enough to trust him. The machine ate my card, and would not return it. I went back inside, and was told that my card would not be returned due to their policy. I called my bank, and was told that since no money was dispensed, it was still in my account. I then cancelled my card, and must wait a week or so until a new card arrives in the mail. I feel that if this bank cannot handle basic banking as well as any gas station with an ATM machine, why would anyone want to trust PNC with their money. I also noticed that no out-of-order notice was put on the machine. This tells me how much they care about my money, or the next persons money. In my opinion, this bank should be avoided at all costs, and a gas station would be a better option. I wish I could give 0 or even negative stars. Hope this long review helps someone to avoid this hemorrhoid of a bank."
