"Worst experience applying for mortgage. Do not recommend Navy Federal for mortgage. I applied and got pre-approved, but it went downhill after that. I applied twice: I was denied due to lack of document, which didn’t make sense because I submitted all the document they requested. I had to apply again, but the loan officer was slow to process my paperwork and not responsive to any form of communication (email, phone call, and text). I finally ended up switching to another bank and it only took 2 weeks to complete everything. You would think Navy Federal will have better service integrity, but it didn’t. It costed me application fees (2 times) and non refundable. It made me think they are scamming people with the application fee and denied the loan. Both loan officers were terrible with communication. As mentioned earlier, not responsive to email, phone call, or text. It’s like they lacked professional responsibility. Do Not use Navy Federal for mortgage. Hope their other services are better since it can only go up from what I experienced."
"I am an NFCU member and would not recommend any other bank. I am a 39 year old terminally ill/disabled mother of a dedicated 21 year old Marine who is currently at Camp Lejeune and just returned from being stationed over at Camp Fuji (Under Mt. Fuji in Japan) for over a year (he left as an uncoordinated 6 ft tall stick figure and returned a 6'4" beast, (I'm 5'3, his height came from my dad, a tall lean Supervisor welder, heavy machine operator etc- an Ironworker who drafted and helped design & build the Pensacola Civic Center, worked at Gulf Power, Flour, Universal Metal Fabricators, and repaired many buildings in Pensacola's Historic District since the 1960s with his best friends in the area in the ELLIS FAMILY, as well as his younger brothers in the Thompson clan. Sadly, his brother GLYNN was the last honorable Thompson to leave this world. His brother Johnny. who was also in the military, passed on duty in Germany.) Staff at NFCU is always there to kindly and quickly help, and are always able to double check that all of my questions are answered and solved quickly, which is quite necessary because I do not have a license due to seizures, so when I do get out I have multiple errands to run. I am curious about the loan process."
"My interaction with Navy Fed started when Jamir Sellers reached out to me with an urgent request for info to facilitate a property sale. He was unclear so I asked for more info - but at each step of trying to clarify what was actually needed Jamir was snarky and unappreciative of MY attempts to assist HIM. Hope the whole mortgage team isn't like that."
"My wife and I (Former Employees), mobile deposited a check Thursday night. Was approved, and were told be two different MSRs, that the funds would be available to us no later then Monday night's processing. They held our check for no reason and proceeded to be extremely rude to us when we called them about it. I escalated the call to a supervisor (Resolution Department), where the representative was rudely cutting me off, then educating me on how to spend our money before rudely hanging up. Been members almost 10 years. Absolutely stunned and shocked at the lack of empathy and active listening. Going somewhere else. Wife is a disabled Navy Vet, and her being treated so disrespectfully is a slap in the face of the Veterans Navy Federal claims to honor!!!!!"
