Methodist University Hospital Emergency Room

"If you don’t care about living or dying, then this place is alright to go to. If you would like to live, go somewhere else. I was kept waiting for 6 hours and was met with dismissiveness when I tried to ask how much longer. What a horrible way to treat someone going through a medical emergency. After 6 hours, I was seen by a nurse practitioner. No hate against NP’s but it’s wild to not have a stand by doctor in the ER. I still don’t know how to access my patient portal because no one ever gave me clear instructions. However, what Methodist University does know how to do, is bill and harass you multiple times via multiple points of contact. If they were as thorough as they were coming after you to pay the bill with patient care, a lot more lives would be saved. But this is where you go to if you want to die while hunched over in the waiting room."

"I don't even want to give on star. They are a joke. Waiting over 5 hours to be seen. I left without seeing a doctor. Got here at 9:30 in the morning and walked out at 3 in the afternoon. Don't even go here. Emts are arriving and putting really sick and bleeding people out in the waiting room. Staff just talking with each about weekend plans and not checking or taking care of the people that need to be seen. I'll take my chances with fate. 13 years US news best. That's a lie."

Worst ER in the area I waited 6+++ hours to be seen after having internal bleeding it’s ridiculous&pathetic how you have to wait so long when you have an simple fix emergency the ER is a emergency facility not a hotel get patient in get them out it’s not hard specially if some people have minor injuries etc … please don’t go here unless you have all the time in the world to sit in a lobby full of sick patients this hospital need new management or someone who cares because at this point it’s out of control and someone could die or worse"

"This is not an emergency room. It s a homeless shelter. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE FOR CARDIO ISSUES OR EVENTS. the staff here is uncaring, unresponsive, and slow. The service model here is to do fast triage to avoid a lawsuit of someone dying in their waiting area. Once they access the patient is not critical, they INTENTIONALLY let them wait for at least 5 hours. They WANT YOU TO WANDER OFF!! This is very profitable for the hospital. But it means if you are looking for anything more than a shelter and gross bathroom, like actual help for your 76 year old mother that had heart surgery a month ago, you're not going to get it here!!! I would never have walked into the Union Mission looking for medical care. But on a Sunday morning and complaints of heart pains, that s pretty much what I just did. Every single staff member here must be completely soulless or they actually hate other humans. No thinking person would really believe they are helping people taking pay check from this charade of a medical facility. You really need to quit and go somewhere better. Stop drinking the Kool aid and resign. If people like you keep working for a very broken, profit driven system, it will stay broken. Providing sub standard care when you know better is disgusting. Now I have to try to convince my family members to go to a real e.r. and pray we can find some people that care about more than a pay check."
