"Graced by divine intervention, PRC Hill Country was the place I went to treatment. I went to treatment back in May of 2021 and have been sober since. It was (is) my first time in recovery and I can't speak highly enough of this place. I was very skeptical at first, but tried to keep an open mind because I was SO tired of living the way that I was, in addition to causing so much stress on my family and others that cared for me. I came from Tomball and ultimately decided to stay in the Austin area to go to sober living (check out Brightside Sober Living if you stay in the Austin area!). After 18 months, I came back to Tomball and have continued to live a sober, happy, and fulfilling life. The psychology-based treatment is what worked for me and helped me discover, as well as learn more about myself. When I first saw the facility and the grounds, I thought I was coming into a luxurious-type of facility because it is SO nice. The food that the chefs make is also AMAZING. If you're ready for help and looking for a sign, this is it. I strongly encourage you to check out the PRC Hill Country location."
"Positive Recovery in Spicewood is top notch from the director down to the cleaning staff. The census is small so each patient has the opportunity to get a lot of attention and not just be a number. Many facilities have much larger censuses which can water down one's level of treatment, not the case at PRC. Programming is directed at tackling the day to day issues that individuals in recovery face throughout their struggles and what they can expect to face when they complete the program and go back to their normal lives. In addition they care very much in your aftercare and are instrumental in assisting one to set up their plan. Whether it be PHP, IOP, Alumni Activities, sober groups and many resources for various recovery organizations (AA, smart recovery etc). Their facility itself is great as well, which includes a walking trail, great scenery and the swimming pool was bonus as well (the small gym too). The accommodations as far as sleeping and eating are well above average as well. If you trust the process, ask questions, don't sweat any small stuff (inside or outside of the facility), focus on your goals to ensure success after your stay and follow their aftercare suggestions then you have a great chance of success. However, I want to stress that the hard work that is necessary for sustained sobriety is not accomplished during your stay, rather you are taught during your stay what to do after you leave. The day you leave is when the hard work begins and if you follow their plan that they will assist you with then you have a great chance of success. And if you slip up, ask for help and go back as soon as you can - relapse is a part of many people's journey - so remember that you are not alone and there are people that care and want to help. Best of luck to you if you decide to go to this facility or another."
"I have to agree this place is HORRIBLE when it comes to opioid addicts. They are untrained and very rude. The night nurses are nice but the day time nurses are rude and have an attitude. The director there is on a high horse and does not care about the patients. I promise you that if you go to positive recovery you will only be a warm body in their bed because they don’t care. And when I say they I mean the nursing staff and management. I seen some horrible treatment to one patient in particular when I was and when I tried to intervene I was shut down, as if my voice didn’t matter because I’m an addict! This place should be shut down."
"The director of this place is very unprofessional and doesn’t listen to the patients. Very rude: One of the nurses Amanda is horrible at what she does and is very unprofessional. I’m hoping it wasn’t because the color of my skin being I was the only black person there including staff and patients. They aren’t trained well at all in opioid addiction, so if you’re detoxing off opioids please DONT COME HERE! Soberity is important to me so I am just transferring to a different facility. This facility was the worst experience I’ve ever had! The crazy part was the staff was interviewing for some reporter so we had to make ourselves disappear but during the interview I started to feel horrible so I told staff and she got an attitude with me cause I was interrupting them.I can go on about how this place is so unprofessional.. DONT GO TO POSITIVE RECOVERY!"
"Had a great experience at PRC Hill Country. Colleen is one of the nicest and most educated LCDC's. Carter, the chef, will make you miss him when you leave. The facility is nice, new and clean. With the tools they taught me I have a great chance at staying sober! They have many connections to keep you in the recovery network even when I moved back to Houston. Would recommend PRC to anyone seeking a positive supportive rehab!"
