"Dr. Kim was not the right fit for me. Initially, I felt that he was okay—seemed caring and patient but after working with him for a few months, I found that he was not right for me. I think that he could be a good doctor for some people but I did not feel that he listened to me thoroughly and felt that he formed his own opinions of me and let his bias lead his attempted treatment plan and also the way that he communicated with me. I definitely think that for people who have a history of addiction and dependency, he may be one to avoid. His apparent biases of my history caused him to sort of shut out my goals and concerns and I didn’t feel respected or heard. Additionally, he communicated with another one of my physicians without my written consent or a release which I’m pretty sure is illegal. Again, I think for some patients and families Dr. Kim might be a very good fit—he is certainly well educated and experienced and can be compassionate and helpful. But for some patients, especially those with any history of addiction issues in their background or with other complicated medical diagnoses (which he didn’t understand or really seem to want to take the time to understand my experience with) I would say you should probably look elsewhere for psychiatric help. No bad blood—I hope he continues to help people who are the right kind of patient and do believe he has the capability to do that—I was just not that kind of patient and would guess that others like me may come into similar problems if under his care."
"Dr Kim is a very good person. We had an in depth visit virtually, where I was able to tell him everything I was going through. He patiently listened, and made sure to properly analyze what I was saying. What is more impressive is that I found myself able to call him afterwards when the prescribed medication wasn't quite working for me. He's always taken my calls between appointments, answered, and been patient and kind. He believes in taking just as much medication as is needed as I work through what's needed, until I don't have to be on them anymore. But I can't stress how much how patient and responsive he is, and willing to listen and work with you until you get where you need to be."
"Very surprised to see all of these low ratings for Dr. Kim. He is a great psychiatrist and has always been caring and understanding. I respect his professional opinion, as he has received more than sufficient medical training. As patients and families, we must remember that we are not the clinicians. Doctors can only treat according to the information we provide them, so it must be truthful and specific. All details such as side effects must be reported so the doctor can provide the best possible treatment. With that being said, I highly recommend Dr. Kim!"
"I was looking for a psychiatrist and a psychologist when I met Dr Kim, he prescribed me some medication that actually made me feel worst, but the problem was that he offered therapy as part of his practice, I'm sure that he have no idea of what's therapy means, he had no plan for me and most sessions where about How I felt about him, as he wasn't related to my issues I found pointless to get asked continuously "How do you feel towards me?", In addition he made videos of each session which was quite uncomfortable, I attended several sessions to give it a chance to see where we were heading and I can tell that he gave me absolutely no help to handle my anxiety and life crisis. Stay away from Dr Kim"
"I recently married my husband and so I wanted to speak to Dr. Kim about his treatment. I came in and he asked me why I decided to come in and I said well my husband is fine and I haven't noticed anything alarming. We spoke and we would like to start tapering off because we have a baby on the way. He said he does not believe in tapering off drugs and so he would recommend another Dr, I found that very interesting since his patient wanted to be off the drugs. So I said fine he said he would write one more prescription for three months so we had time to find a new doctor. My husband went into CVS a week later and he never filled the prescription. He also never sent my husband referrals. Once I realized my husband was acting very weird because he had been going through withdrawal symptoms he finally told me it was because the doctor never gave him his refill. I found that to be so disturbing that I left him a voicemail that my husband paid his fee and so was untilled to the prescription. I also said that his actions were very unprofessional. He called my husband the next morning and said he would fill the prescription for a month if he came back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON pure EVIL!! I work for the federal government and will take every step necessary to report his actions. If you are considering this doctor stay far away."
