"Dr. Sharpe has always been very rude but I let it go and always laughed it off as “mean girls” don’t scare me. I’d go in to get a mole checked out and she’d bring up my acne EVERY TIME even though EVERY TIME I’d state NO to the acne medicine , my acne comes and goes and reflects when my diet is poor or from me being stressed. However I won’t ever be returning after I set up an appt to get a mole removed due to concerns of it changing color and shape ( can be a sign of major issue and I have a family history of skin cancer) . They refused to bill it properly and where wanting me to pay as though it was a “ cosmetic procedure” when in fact it definitely was not."
"I scheduled an appointment with Bella Dermatology only to have it moved to another date because the Dr. wasn't in that day. I was rescheduled and completed my paperwork well in advance. The day of my appointment I arrive to the office, sign in, and was told to take a seat and I would be checked in shortly. I overhear the young ladies at the front desk trying to figure out a price estimate for a patient on the phone. They both kept coming up with different numbers, I was shocked that there is not an accurate system to provide precise totals. Once I was called up to the desk, I handed the young lady my secondary insurance. She states she doesn't know if they take that carrier and would have to call the verification department. She does that and states that the veri. dept. stated that the secondary insurance might not pay because I haven't met my deductible for my primary insurance (which I have), but if they did pay I would be refunded. The young lady tells me it would be $375 for the visit....I was NOT made aware of this prior to this conversation. I asked to be billed, she stated the balance can't be billed and asked if I would like to proceed with the appointment. Absolutely NOT! Take me off the schedule and please DO NOT try to send me a cancellation fee. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!"
"Will NEVER RETURN!!! This is my second-time visiting this dermatologist. First time I had a facial, no problem. The young lady gave me a few samples to try at home. One of the product that was given I really did like, so I thought it was a product that was sold by there. Went in to pick up the product I stated at that time that did not look like the product that she gave me a sample of; however, I still purchased the SUNSHEEN for $40. The young lady let me sample a little bit of the product before leaving. By the time I got home the product that I purchased did not feel as good as the sample that I was given. Here it is Friday at 4:30 they close at 5, I call back the same day and I could I return it, I was told yes as long as it was not opened. Fine, I DID NOT open it. Work week starts can't get back here until Thursday at 2 o'clock now they want to play crazy and say I can't return. Y, its not open and I was told that I could. Needless to say they didn't take it back. Now instead of trying to make things right, I get a phone call to say if I leave a review I would be Discharge! Now what made them think I was coming back after they didn't make good on their word is besides me. I will NEVER go back. If the product was that good you will stand behind it and say sorry that it did work for you. anything else we can do for you. That's how you conduct business!"
"My son had an appointment and went to his appointment of course. They collected his co-payment up front he went and saw the doctor. On the way back out they charged him $365 because they found out his insurance was not in network. I called and I spoke to a Sabrina and asked why didn't they let my son know are the staff should be aware that his insurance is out of network not collect his co-payment and tell him exactly how much it would be. Sabrina was very rude, unprofessional and for working in the medical industry she is very very unethical she needs to go back to school for ethics and empathy. I asked for an office manager she said there was not an office manager stayed in my son would not get a refund and hung the phone up on me. All I said to her it was their job when my son went to the appointment to let him know he was out of network instead of collecting a copay then after seeing the doctor have him pay because they found out after all he was not in network. I am so surprised that they have someone like that working in the office especially when I asked to speak to an office managerand my son was not going to get his money back and hung the phone up on me. Very unethical very unprofessional whoever Sabrina is"
"Please don’t even waste your time and money!! I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Sharpe since she was the very first to diagnose me for HS in 2017. Her practice has significantly declined in customer service since then. Upon arriving, I immediately noticed the lack of professionalism from those at the front desk because no one greeted me, one was on the phone and the other two were engaging in conversation. My wait time was an hour but that was understandable. However, my interaction with Dr. Sharpe on April 1, 2024 literally felt like a joke. Her demeanor and lack of professionalism was totally unacceptable. I expressed my concerns and she dismissed them…while comparing the severity of another patient’s condition whom had the same skin disease as mine but worse. She did not empathize with me and disregarded my personal experience with the condition and how it affected ME. HS has become very common since 2017 and I understand that Dr. Sharpe may have seen hundreds of patients with the same condition, however, i don’t appreciate how she responded to my concerns showing no compassion and handling it with a “it is what it is” type of attitude. She offered ONE treatment and didn’t care to explain the others…even after I kept asking if there were other alternatives that were more comfortable/natural. I finally remembered something about laser hair removal being a form of treatment and as soon as I mentioned it, she quickly got up and said she would get someone else to come in to discuss the process and possibly do a test area since it was an option for treatment. No other advice was given by her. I remained undressed so that I could be ready for whoever specialized in laser hair removal to come in and do their assessment. I sat and waited so long that I had to call the front desk to let them know I was still in a room waiting on someone. The lack of communication is upsetting. That “someone”never came so they sent in their assistant which was no help at all…she stated that their colleague was busy with a patient and that I needed to schedule another appointment for a consultation. I kindly requested for Dr. Sharpe to come back in to finish discussing the treatment plan she originally offered being that she had a sample I could try in office that day. Dr. Sharpe refused to come complete my visit because she was working on her notes (from what the assistant told me) and asked that I schedule a follow up. A FOLLOW UP FOR WHAT????? No treatment plan was established. As I proceeded to get ready to leave, I noticed majority of the staff leaving for the day also. So no progress was made, no treatments were given, I was left in a room, forgot about, then rushed out once it was time for them to close. I walked out feeling even worse than how I felt walking in because the purpose of my appointment was not fulfilled. I had to wait a whole month for this appointment and now I must find a better dermatologist. Furthermore. I arrived with my FMLA and RA paperwork from my job and Dr. Sharpe blatantly told me that she do not touch FMLA paperwork and will not complete it for me because she is not familiar with the rules/codes associated with it and referred me back to my primary doctor to complete the documents. She expressed to me how she has very little interest with learning the proper regulations concerning FMLA which I find very strange because I personally know two individuals who had their FMLA papers completed by her RECENTLY so Dr. Sharpe either lied about not knowing how to complete them or she’s RECENTLY been penalized for not completing them properly. Either way, Bella Dermatology will never see me again."
