"The staff is very nice however, the Guest Relations person Mr. Hamilton goes over and beyond to make sure that us patients and guests are well taken care of and, don’t need anything! I use a walker and thought I could make it without a wheelchair! Thank God Hamilton convinced me to get in a wheelchair or I would have been on the floor because my knees and back was giving out! I saw him assist and check on other patients and guests while I was there! He continued to check on me and my family member to see if we needed anything! He has the calmest and most caring attitude! I come to St. Mary’s a lot unfortunately but this was my first time meeting Hamilton! I hope they keep him around forever because it shows that he really cares about others! Thank you Hamilton for everything! You’re an Angel on earth and we need more folks like you for sure! May God Bless you and keep you at St. Mary’s forever♥️"
"My mother had surgery yesterday and all involved were fantastic! From pre admission testing with Bernadine to all of the short stay nurses, Ashley and Andrea. Ashley welcomed us in and made my Mom feel more comfortable. Andrea went through all of Mom’s medication and history and placing her IV expertly. Christine performed her EKG and took great care to keep her comfortable and modestly covered. Dr. Mejias was, as always, comforting and had a wonderful bedside manner. Ashley the CRNA was awesome and her recovery room nurse Katie was stellar, taking great care of Mom. Dr. Mejias came by again after she came back to the room to check on her and make sure she didn’t have any more questions. Andrea helped Mom after surgery, getting her to the bathroom and fully covering discharge instructions. Her visit from start to finish was seamless and everyone was so kind and caring."
"Saturday evening 8-10-24 I took my wife to the emergency room because she was experiencing pain in her throat and was unable to swallow because of something in her throat. The doctors looked in her throat and did not see anything. Their attitude was like they did not believe her. Finally they did a Cat Scan on her throat and did see a swelling in her throat. They then admitted her to the Hospital. They gave her IV antibiotics and liquid pain relievers, which did help. The doctor saw her Sunday morning and said they need to make sure she can eat before she leaves. But they never brought any food for her to eat at anytime while she was there. Then they release her at 8pm Sunday night!!!!! Now she is at home and unable to eat or even take her meds!!! I am very unhappy with this hospital!!!"
"After hearing some good reviews of the labor and delivery side of St Mary’s, I had chosen to have our baby there. Ended up having to have a C-section, and then the next day he had to be taken to the NICU unit. 5 stars for amazing staff, and nurses. Dr Anderson, delivered our little guy. Everyone was so kind, understanding and very helpful! Everyone on the NICU floor was amazing as well! We are so thankful for each and every one of them!"
"Payment MD collection emails from St. Mary's hospital in Athens, GA. What is going on with these greedy people? Are they filing insurance or not? I have it so why would it take 1 year or more to contact me? When I go to the emergency room I always give my insurance to the social worker. Was covid the reason why I am receiving bills as Administrators in thr billing department never contacted me. Someone is really interested in having a dispute in court. No USPS mail at all, but emails. How implorable, even a phone call would be more acceptable. What underachieving billing personnel. I have had insurance since January of 2021 in georgia too. If this is resolved it will be my pleasure to update this review. Ellen Coleman"
