"Dirty medical office, gave a pass on but it’s gross in there. Initial consultation was so so not a great “bed side” manner but gave the dr a pass. Prescription was not covered by insurance out of pocket was $3600 which was of course astronomical and not going to pay. I settled for a recommended option from insurance and a 30 day trial. Today 5/4, I contacted Dr Lui for next option was contacted at 8pm in the evening by a very combative and rude Dr Lui stating I missed an appt and scolded me communicating that is a “no,no and I will be dropped”. Now, if I missed an appt that is my error but I NEVER rcvd a phone call reminder from his staff. It would appear Dr Lui was ready to drop me at a moments notice and lacked the knowledge to assist a patient. Best of luck to other patients seeing Mr Lui. I hope he assists you better with your GI issues than me and I look forward to my next GI doctor and a clean medical office."

"After reading the negative reviews I was apprehensive but today my experience was very good. I found the staff was professional, cheerful and attentive. Obviously there was a high degree of efficiency considering they specialize in endoscopic exams. At the completion of the exam, Dr Lui gave me a written report with color photos, explained the report, answered questions then sent me on my way. I'll be back in ten years... who could ask for more? "Dr Lui is a skilled and capable physician. However the complaints about his office staff are justified. They seem unpleasant at times and even disinterested. One woman in the office however was very helpful so they are not all at fault. His clinical staff on the other hand were great. I had a colonoscopy and another procedure that worked out very well. One thing I did not like was that when I asked Dr. Lui how long I would have to take medication for a mild ulcer his response was "forever." I prefer a more organic approach. The complaint about his staff doing all the work is partially true but I find that's how it is with most doctors these days. After they did the prelim exams I was told I would be speaking with a nurse practitioner. When I objected they said OK and I instead met with Dr Lui. His bedside manner needs some work but he is a friendly guy and knows his stuff. One thing I found funny was when I asked how many procedures the doctor would be doing that day the assistant told me that around the clinic they call him "The Machine.""
