Simple & limited menu, great selection of north indian items, a kitchen team with an award winning Head Chef hailing from a revered chef family, and a daredevil ex-Head Chef who has worked in some of the roughest corners of the world. PLACE : WDC, urban, shopping centers, accessible, busy intersection, scarce parking, 25 miles from anywhere NoVA. CUISINE : AWADHI, NORTH INDIAN FOOD : The prices are GREAT, quantity and plating is nice. proper NORTH INDIAN flavours, NON-AMERICANIZED. All of above made in-house from scratch (i can confirm from my exp and tasting) A rare find, and I never expected to find yet another proper indian restaurant in DC/NoVA. Simple selection menu and accurate flavours. Felt like dining in a proper restaurant in India. Food is on the rich, savoury and minty side. I have lived over 7 states in USA and have been to atleast 200 restaurants over 8 yrs searching for these kinds of places, which are not easy to find. This genuinely stands out from others in DC. Worth driving far. AMBIENCE and STAFF : Ambience is extremely busy, buzzy and lively yet, Fine-Dine. History tracing artwork. Same group of staff from CHAATWALA (herndon), same energy, very friendly, very attentive and responsive. Cares about diners and not the stats. The owners are ultra experienced in food and fully in sync with the service. Special mention to Milky from herndon and his excellent runs throughout the hours being always on point and always smiling."
