"My new Adams Home defines contractor inferiority-Here’s 10 things to know about it: (1) My concrete foundation has an enormous crack WITHIN the “expansion crack” going both directions the entire length of garage. I can stand a kitchen knife in it. See the grey silicone in the knife photo? That’s a “warranty repair.” It seems no moisture barrier was laid beneath the concrete in the garage. (2) Filthy upon move in. They wiped everything visible. Inside cabinets, drawers & closets debris filled. Drywall, sawdust and wood pieces in every unseen area requiring vacuuming to unpack. Under the AC air intake, the floor was covered in wood/drywall dust, blowing it through the ducts before I bought the house. AC filter was disgusting and never changed prior to move in (3) My air handler was installed improperly with no clearance for air filter removal. I have to remove the air intake in the wall to access the filter from underneath to remove it. The “warranty repair” was not raising the air handler to access the filter properly. It was drilling shims on the inside drywall to give me something to drill the metal registers screws into being that drywall wasn’t designed to hold after repeated access through the same hole (4) My dryer exhaust vent was found disconnected with an attic full of lint after using the dryer for months (5) Plumbing leaks in 3 of the 4 sinks upon move in. It’s hard for me to believe they were ever tested for leaks and that this home passed permitting (6) Fire door is out of square/crooked-out by 5”16” at top & flush at bottom. I can feel hot air from garage entering. It’s not sealed. They fixed the improper installation of the door with thick weatherstripping, now falling down revealing the true ineptitude of door installer (7) My handicapped spouse cannot open our front door because you must apply force. Using the doorknob alone does nothing as the door sticks in the bottom entry side corner and has since day one. I was told it would “wear in.” Back door is the same to a lesser degree, weather variable. The doors in my new home should open the same regardless of the weather (8) Window screens have half inch gap on either/both sides. Bugs enter & die between glass & screen. When I complained the screens didn’t fit properly, I was told “that’s how they came with the windows.” (9) CAULK. Corners where the drywall didn’t meet, places they “missed”- caulk. Screwing in a plate cover, miss and poke a hole in the wall? Caulk it. Frame of door doesn’t meet? Just smear caulk with your finger. Caulk is shrinking/yellowing/becoming evident EVERYWHERE in the house. I haven’t been here a year and the inside in need of wall repairs and paint. Poor quality everywhere you look, with new finds daily. The list of projects never ends, and I bought a new house to alleviate that issue (10) GROUT-TILE: Uneven. Holes. Variance from 1/8”-1/2”” in grout thickness in tub. Shower missing grout at bottom. Tiles not flat, varying depths on wall. This is the short list, but I assume you have other things to do. **Currently, Adams is in breach of their warranty contract. I received NO RESPONSE to my last two written requests submitted within the 1 year warranty period, to their specified email, on their specified form. I’ll be hiring a construction defect attorney to address the PROPER repairs required in my home, as well as filing a complaint with evidence of builder negligence with Florida DBPR. Get an inspection no matter what they promise. They cut costs at every opportunity. The disingenuous interest in your satisfaction disappears once you purchase from them. They are condescending & accusatory when you need warranty work, as you will find on multiple complaints about this builder, Adams Homes of Northwest Florida, on Consumer Reports, BBB, or Google. Read peoples experiences. The “star number” is easily manipulated. Don’t let “incentives” or “easy finance” persuade you into making a bad decision on one of life’s biggest investments."

"We bought a Adams home in Palm Coast, Florida. The people were friendly and professional. We had an inspector check the house before moving in. He said he would buy the house if he was looking for one. So far the quality appears to be very good. No complaints here."

"Seeing negative replies is amazing. I have nothing but good to say about this company We entered into an agreement to purchase and the home was almost complete in May of 2023. As we were moving from CA we had a professional inspector go over everything on the home in High Springs Fl. He raved about the cooperation and stated their representative was extremely helpful and the quality was outstanding. The inspector motto was a new house everything need to be perfect. Everything he found was minor but immediately Adams said we will fix everything. There was a small wrinkle in the carpet which I believed could be kicked out but the Adams rep said they want to prevent future issued and replace all the carpet in a 3000 sq foot house. Just before closing I had a heart attack my 3rd putting me a extreme risk. My wife has a great support network in San Diego and moving to Fla meant starting again. I explained the issues to the Adams sales manager fully aware that I had liability cancelling the contract around $40,000. In a few days they not only cancelled the contract they returned my full deposit. All I can say they built a great house and it was priced $50,000 under others in the area. Their customer service is amazing and they did the right thing because of my health issues. I will also say if my health improves and we look again in Fla I will surely pick Adams as my builder"
