Reviews
"Dr Welch is the most compassionate and caring Dr I have ever been a patient of. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and responds via portal to help me. I drive over three hours to see him and I will continue to as long as he practices medicine. Highly recommend him!"
"I was unable to schedule an appointment on three separate occasions. You'll need a referral from a PCP even if your insurance doesn't require either one. I finally received a referral and tried to schedule an appointment in person while visiting for my annual check-up, and I was told that the office only accepts doctor to doctor referrals. As it became apparently clear during my conversation with the one person that could schedule me, she then requests for me to read my referral letter aloud in the busy lobby where people are checked in and out. I declined, and said that I'll figure something else out."
"He is conservative in his approach and does not rush for anyone to have surgery until it is absolutely necessary. I have only recently been using him, but he seems s miles better than the last one I had, who was also with BSW. She insisted that I have surgery on my parathyroid glands to remove one when test results didn’t indicate even which one might need to even be removed!!! Naturally, I dropped her like a hot potato."
"I’ve been a patient of Dr Welch for 5 years. I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 48 years so I know a great endocrinologist when I meet one. Dr. Welch checks off all the boxes for me. Thoughtful, encouraging, informative, collaborative and supportive. He’s a message away if I have an urgent question. He doesn’t push me off to his other colleagues when I make an appt to see him. This is how I define the care Dr. Welch gives me. He respects my beliefs and works with me to make managing my diabetes not so overwhelming. I highly recommend him as an endocrinologist."
"My son was 17 last year when I made his new patient first appointment for his type 1 diabetes. It was a year out. I called this June to confirm since I had not received an email or text as a reminder. The girl that answered was unprofessional, not friendly and would not confirm with me because he had turned 18. She told me they don’t send reminders. She said an automated Baylor health system robot calls. If you don’t answer then oh well. We now have to find a new dr and wait longer for him to get care. Very messed up office!!"
