"This place was terrible from the moment I was pregnant until I delivered. Every time I went in for prenatal appointments it was always so unorganized. It always took them a minute to figure out what was happening at my appointment. The girls at the front desk were always nice, but the lady who runs the financial part was horrible. There was a time she stuck her head out of her office and told the front desk lady I needed to pay more than $50 for my visit. Then continued to have a personal financial talk with me at the front desk with everybody listening. Every time, I would tell them I can't pay $300 for every visit. She did not care what my situation was, that amount was expected every visit. Then at the end of my pregnancy, Dr washburne congratulated me on my "boy" when I had a girl and she said her notes were wrong. The final straw was when I got denied to see my Dr for a check up after I had my baby because I still had a balance of $300. I was told I could not make anymore payments and I had to pay the full amount before I can even make an appointment. I will never come here again. I've never had such a terrible experience with a Dr's office."
"I had an absolutely horrible experience with Dr. Elizabeth Washburne. As a young woman at her first OB appointment ever, I expect my doctor to listen to my concerns. My initial nurse was very kind and listened to my past medical history and concerns, however Dr. Washburne saw me for LESS THAN 5 minutes and completed a breast exam, which was not all that I went in for. I have voiced my concerns to the initial nurse and my family practitioner, but Dr. Washburne explained that my breasts were fine and she did not give me any further information. She then told me she would give me a “Breast Self-Examination” pamphlet (I am very aware of how to complete a self-examination, and I know that my breast does not feel right. Whether it is a calcium build up, new breast tissue, or cancer, I should’ve been given more information.) She then told me I could get dressed and left the room. A few minutes later, a random nurse/tech returned with my pamphlet and told me I could bring my paperwork back to the front desk. I attempted to voice my other concerns about my body that I set this appointment for, however the doctor never returned to the room and instead told the random nurse/tech to explain to me that I needed to make a new appointment to complete my next steps. I expected to feel very welcome and comfortable at this appointment, however I did not feel comfortable and was made to feel like a little girl that knows nothing about her own body. After I asked about further medications, I felt judged and got no answers. I will NOT be going back to see Dr. Elizabeth Washburne."
"I just want to say my visit was amazing with Bridget Cahill and her entire time. From the Receptionist , the Nurses and the Lab Tech. I left 100% positive my situation will get better !"
"I gave birth a little over 8 months ago, and have waited so long to review because I wanted to make sure that I was in the right head space to do so. While I think that the facility operates very smoothly and that Wesley overall is great (especially the nurses), I had several issues with my OBGYN. Dr. Carter would be great for an experienced mother who knows exactly what she wants from her birthing experience and is a great self-advocate. That, unfortunately, was not me. As a result, I frequently felt lost and like I wasn’t sure what questions to ask. There were three major issues throughout my experience: 1. I had significant nausea throughout my pregnancy. I was heading out on a trip that required a lot of travel, so Dr. Carter suggested a specific medicine that I can’t remember the name of. I do, however, remember going to a pharmacy the day before my trip to find out that this medicine was actually prescription only. I was confused about why she would recommend and then not prescribe the medication, 2. I discussed with Dr. Carter that I would really like to have a natural birth without an epidural. She suggested that I be induced at one of my last appointments. My patient notes reflected that I had requested an induction. While this seems like a subtle difference, my only request at the time was a natural birth with no epidural. At the time, I didn’t know that pitocin (the medicine used to induce) causes a more difficult labor (stronger contractions, increased stress on uterus and fetus). This makes a natural birth much more difficult. After almost a full day in labor, I gave in and had the epidural, which aside from my personal reasons for wanting a natural birth, ended up costing me an additional $1500. While I absolutely should have done my due diligence, I also feel that it was Dr. Carter’s responsibility to inform me that an induction did not line up with my goals for birth. 3. At no point during my labor did Dr. Carter discuss with me the need for an episiotomy. I was aware and communicative, as was my husband. I did not want an episiotomy unless it was medically necessary and feel that if she thought it was so, then she should have let me know that she needed to do it and asked for my consent. Instead, I found out that I had an episiotomy during birth while reading my patient notes two days later. I thought that I just tore. I saw her after the birth before I found out, and she didn’t address it or me tearing despite the fact that either of those causes more intense pain and a more difficult recovery. Again, in terms or personality, I really liked her. I just don’t think that she was the right doctor for me, and I don’t think she would be the right doctor for anyone who is indecisive or anxious about putting their foot down."
"I drove two hours from my job in Jackson to accompany my wife to a doctor's visit where we were going to receive some VERY important test results concerning our baby she is carrying. We waited in a room for fifty five minutes before the doctor came in and told us that the results (which were collected 7 days ago) weren't back yet. I am beyond upset. There was no point in either us coming to this appointment. The only reason it was made was to discuss the results. Someone should have called and told us that they weren't resulted yet and rescheduled the appointment. This is so unprofessional. My wife has been worried sick for the last week. Now we get to worry for another few days about the outcome....... Not to mention it made us twenty minutes late picking our toddler up from daycare, and I missed 7 hours of work driving down here..."
