"Trying to get a referral at this office has been extremely difficult, and having a rude staff makes it even worse. Iv'e since left this office after 20+ years. Dr. Shah's team was somewhat difficult at times, but this new team put together after Shah has retired... I don't think anyone should have to put up with this level of arrogance."
"Slow response for prescription refills. Kaitlyn aka (BLONDE KAREN) talks down to people = disgusting. Overall Shah is a good caring doctor that listens, and most likely extremely overworked for the numerous amount and growing number of patients. For his excellent staff I highly recommend Carla, and Nancy, 2 of the finest heath professionals I have encountered in my 20+ yrs that actually have gone out of their way to help ones suffering/pain. "Dr. M. Shah is Part of the Anchor Medical Group of St. Petersburg, FL. I feel I must start by saying all the medical staff and Doctor, Nurses and PAs are exceptional. The MAJOR issue is the front office staff, particularly the office manager, Paula. Paula is extremely arrogant, unhelpful, insistent, impatient and very, very rude, even when contacted by another medical person on my behalf. She is often times incorrect with her assumptions, as in my case. She remembers incorrectly and insists she is correct. They were my primary care providers but because of Paula I have since changed my PCP and filed a complaint with my medical insurance provider. If you feel this treatment is OK by all means go there as I said the medical staff is excellent. Just offering a warning based on my experience."
"Had a displeasing experience when our staff spoke with the Office Manager (unable to obtain her name). We were calling regarding a mutual patient and trying to assist our dialysis unit with their referral process. We learned the office staff were "extremely rude" to one of our practice's physicians in the St. Pete area, as well as the patient herself. When we called to notify the office manager of the rude encounter, she immediately became defensive and dismissive towards my access coordinator. She also tried to turn it into a racial problem and stated she was offended by our remarks when we discussed their office being a managed-care clinic. Her behavior was unprofessional and has caused our clinic and surrounding offices to refrain from doing business with them. I encourage this office manager and the staff to change their culture and attitude if they want their practice to be successful. Word of mouth is powerful."
"I had a horrible experience trying to obtain an authorization referral from this doctors office. I had been working to obtain the authorization for a week and left several messages for the referral rep Carla, and also faxed a request and obtained a confirmation that they had received the request. I called spoke to a young lady named Devon whom left me on forever hold and than blind transferred me to Carla. I also spoke to a very pleasant and professional young lady named Samantha whom took a message to have her manager call me. I waited for a couple of hours and right before my day ended I called again because once again no one had returned my messages. I asked her for her name and at first she cut me off and asked me who I was and asked what I needed. I told her that I had called several times and left several messages and she asked me for the patients date of birth. When I tell her the date of birth she said the referral was done and faxed, I asked what fax number and she gave me a total different fax number, when I asked her to re-fax it to me she said she was not going to re-fax it and that I had to figure where that fax was. Needless to say I called the patient and told her everything that transpired and she was not happy and was going to call the doctors office. In my opinion I would never want to have my family or friends go to this doctor just because of his staff. With the exception of that young lady Samantha kudos to her. Remember always just one office staff member can damage a good perception for the entire office and doctor. In this case it was two, the office manager Kathy and referral rep Carla.
