Reviews of Amanda Bailey Hair
"AMANDA IS BEING DISHONEST!!!!!! !! I said that I wasn’t going to leave a bad review, but the fact that Amanda has ignored me concerning how unhappy I am with the service has made me change my mind so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I went in to Amanda’s salon on 3/1/2021...I requested silver hair. I understand that silver hair is a process BUT my hair was already pretty silver! I sat in Amanda’s chair and told her that I wanted a platinum silver with a dark root. Amanda told me that she thought I should skip the root because we could get me to silver platinum that day and thought that the root would slow the process. I trusted her professional opinion. We decided on no root. It was early in the morning and I was extremely tired from my shift the night before. As a stylist I would usually try to keep some light conversation going to help the client stay awake. This was my first time seeing Amanda. I understand that all stylists are not the same. But the amount of awkward silence that filled the room was extremely uncomfortable. The service took five hours. That’s a long time for zero conversion. When the coloring portion of the service was finished Amanda pulled the towel off of my head and my hair was yellow. I know that Amanda could tell by my face that I was less than pleased. She said that if anything we could tone it and that it would look better dry. Again I trusted her. We dried my hair and it did look better though it was not silver. Again I understand it’s a process but if Amanda thought even a little bit that we couldn’t achieve silver and it would be yellow she should have informed me instead of leaving me to believe that I would leave with silver hair that day. Mind you my hair was already silver in areas because I’ve been doing this color for a couple of years now. Never has it turned out yellow or taken five hours to complete. At the end of the service I felt like I could deal with my hair and I paid and left, but catching my hair in the window of my car in the parking lot I quickly changed my mind. I ran my fingers through my hair and saw all the yellow spots that lied under the roots and showed heavily in different lighting. I texted Amanda right away in her parking lot to fix it. Being a stylist I didn’t tell her that I didn’t like it because I really didn’t want to be rude. That was my mistake...next time I will be honest. I asked Amanda if she could put a root back in. Amanda said that she could but couldn’t get me in for two days and would have to charge for the service. I was upset...I just could not walk around with yellow hair and and I also couldn’t believe that she wanted to charge me to fix it. I then looked for another salon and asked Amanda if she would be willing to offer a partial refund considering that I would have to pay full price at another salon to fix her mistakes. She said absolutely not. I was in tears and also AS A STYLIST I would NEVER treat a client this way! I slept on it and woke up the next day and politely texted Amanda to tell her again all of my hair concerns. Amanda ignored me. All of this texting was all polite by the way. I am not a rude person and would never do or say anything outlandishly impolite. Amanda seems to be the opposite. Amanda’s service cost me around $380. $300 for the service and $80 for the tip. The next salon I went to had to fix my entire head. You should have seen their faces over my hair when I walked into the salon. They put in a root, color corrected my whole head, treated it, and cut it all off because it's destroyed. This service was a little more but worth it. It was $400 and then I of course tipped well. Because of Amanda, all together I spent about $900, around a full nine hours of my time and a mass amount of tears and stress, and all my hair. This was nightmare for me and I never thought I would experience such poor service and a lack of care. Amanda’s lack of empathy was outrageous. I would highly recommend not using Amanda Baileys business and go elsewhere to save yourself a lot of money, time, and mistreatment."
"I’ve been coming to Amanda for years. She’s always a warm and easy to talk to person. Has helped my hair get long and strong, and hides all my grays haha. I also love how flexible she is and how reasonably she prices her services. Highly recommend."
"Amanda has always been friendly and professional. Her new salon is wonderful. She has cut and colored my hair for years. Amanda knows how to get my darker hair as light as I want it without it being yellow or orange. I will continue going to Amanda for all of my hair needs. She knows just the way I want it."
"I have been having my hair cut and colored by Amanda for 3 years. Not once have I been disappointed! She does a great job and is always punctual, flexible, and polite. I would highly recommend. I drive 45 minutes for her to do my hair!"
