"Needed a new key programmed for a 2011 328i. I had a fob I purchased from Amazon guaranteed to work with my car which THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT ACCEPT THEY CLAIMED THAT EACH KEY HAS TO BE ORDERED FROM MANUFACTURER SPECIFICALLY ENCODED TO MY VIN NUMBER LIES LIES LIES and stated the charge for JUST the "FOB" would be 345.03. Then another 229 programming, AND ANOTHER 112.98 for a total 687.01 before taxes when I went to meet with AAA the tow truck driver ( super nice young man) called U pick locksmith who came to my car in 25 min and USED my SO CALLED UNUSABLE FOB FROM AMAZON THAT I PD $19.95 FOR * de-encrypted the computer's previous key programming * programmed new one AND *DEACTIVATED OLD KEYS ACCESS all in 40 min. Don't let any locksmith or dealership tell you you can't buy a $20 fob off Amazon and get it programmed. Upick locksmith did it all for 500$ less than the dealership was trying to charge Will never return as they are typical of what I hate about car dealers full of lies"

I live 5 miles from the BMW of Sarasota dealership, but they have a terrible service department. Bert Smith BMW is 57 miles away, but it is more than worth the trip to be taken care of properly.
