"Must take staple fork road to get there or else gps will take you into florida or through closed gated hunting clubs. suv or truck would nice because its a long gravel road and some water on the road actual boat launch is washed away so have to drag or carry kayak and canoe down"

"Gravel landing is the northernmost canoe/kayak launch on either side of the Perdido river. Unlike Staple Fork Landing, the next launch below this one, motor vehicles are not allowed to unload boats at the launch before parking in the lot. Not only are motor vehicles not allowed to unload, its not even possible to unload using a wheeled canoe/kayak cart: The path between the parking lot and the sandbar/beach is very eroded and poorly maintained. This is particularly disappointing after such a long trip down the poorly graded bumpy road that leads to the landing. Even folks with wheeled canoe/kayak carts will experience considerable difficulty getting their boat from the parking lot to the launch. I thought that by now, they would have filled in the deep holes and fissures between the parking lot and the river, but it appears that there is no plan to do this. Too bad. This could be a first-rate launch if a little more effort was put into it. As it stands though, its not even usable from my perspective."

"We went for a ride in the jeep and ended up at gravel landing. It's a nice peaceful and relaxing spot."

"This is the north canoe trail and hiking trail parking lot of PWM. It's a beautiful area, enjoy it. But as the signs say "leave it better then you found it"!!!!!"
