Reviews of Cooperstown Accommodations
"In March of 2020, 5 months in advance, Cooperstown announced the cancellation of the summer baseball tournament. NY also announced travel bans from MN and mandatory 14 day quarantine upon entering the state. We sought a refund for our stay and were told by Cooperstown Accomodations that they would be keeping their half of the $2700 deposit for Marshmallow Acres and we could contact the homeowner for the other half. As it turns out, CA is also the owner (Stephanie Stringer and her brother Derik Rich). Of course, CA never disclosed this info to me. I contacted the Rich family and was told they spent our team’s money on inspections and taxes and would not be returning anything."
"As a parent of a Little League Baseball player, your establishment should be ashamed of themselves. With our team and many teams having lost out on a once in a lifetime youth baseball event in Cooperstown.... it is my hope that moving forward you will no longer be able to do business for any future teams that may come to Cooperstown. We along with thousands of parents will be sure to blacklist your company and make it known that you choose to steal money earned by 12 year olds by sponsorships, volunteering and fundraising. Taking advantage of a Global Pandemic and refusing to rightfully return funds that were never yours in the first place and for services never provided or rendered. Enjoy the loss of future business!!!!"
"I would give zero stars if possible. I am a repeat customer and rented a house in Cooperstown for my son's tournament. Unfortunately Cooperstown Dreams Park cancelled all tournaments this summer. I contacted the merchant 2 months ago to cancel the reservation. It took 3 emails to get a response but I was told that the reservation was cancelled and that the check was "in the mail" for my deposit. That was 6 weeks ago. I sent 3 emails over the last 10 days only to now be told that I won't be refunded. really? I understand the difficulty being a small business owner, being one myself, but this is a terrible way to run a business. you don't tell someone that their refund check has been sent, then ignore follow ups and finally respond that a refund won't be given. UPDATE: I received 1/2 of my security deposit back directly from the property owner. Cooperstown Accomodations apparently still feels it’s ethical to keep the other 1/2. Don’t rent from this agency."
"Company refuses to send back deposit. I have contacted the Governor of New York and will be also contacting the Better Business Bureau. Homeowner sent back 50% of deposit but Cooperstown Accommodations is keeping 50%. Airlines, hotels, cruise companirs, etc. are all refunding because of a worldwide pandemic; however Cooperstown Accommodations keeps deposits. SHAME ON YOU! Updated on 6-14-2020 I have now contacted the Better Business Bureau of New York, the Attorney General in New York, Dreams Park and Tthe local newspaper. I suggest others do the same. Nothing worse than bad reputation."
"We used this group based on a recommendation of a friend. Was that a huge mistake. Once all baseball was canceled for our son we contacted them for a refund and they kept some of the monies. Like all families we were excited for the chance to experience Cooperstown but with the program ended we just wanted to move on. For three months I have been asking for our refund and they just keep telling me they are checking. Contacting an attorney now but warning everyone to stay away. DON’T EVEN CONSIDER THIS COMPANY"
