"I received a ticket in December. As I am typically very busy at work (not an excuse) I knew it would be better if I just paid the ticket off; I tend to sidetrack and forget to get things done outside of work. I called the clerk to see how I could do that without having to take off time from work. Because I had already paid for the driving class she told me I had to finish that process. She (Ms. Oehler) was very unprofessional on the phone and hung up. At one point she even proclaimed that "she had the upper hand" and I would be doing what she asked. Fortunately, I called the other town of Colton number and was able to speak to the previous Clerk who explained what I needed to do. Because of my experience I decided to show up for court as I did not entirely feel Ms. Oehler would submit my paperwork. I never saw the judge but sat in the side room/board room. A month later I received a letter in the mail saying I didn't show for court and that my license could be suspended. I live two and a half hours away and took the day off and sat in the parking lot an hour before court and an hour after to catch up on work...I was there (and my Google Maps History shows this). I just did not understand how A) there is not a way to pay without having to drive out and B) how I can show up for court and still not show as being in attendance nor that I turned in all of my paperwork. What happens if you live out of state and get a ticket? At any rate, it was a horrible experience. If I can avoid ever driving through that town again I will. On the other side of that, the police officer was absolutely wonderful."
"Very courteous, quiet and friendly atmosphere."
