"TLDR: use literally ANYONE else. Hiring J&A Electrical Construction LLC ended up costing me roughly double their bill to fix all of their shoddy work. Pros: - did not burn my house down Cons: - Almost always late and does not shut/lock doors - Does not inspect his own work and coincidentally neglected to include the 10+ outlets he cut/installed (missing a required wire - did NOT work) on his Inspector LLC inspection - Does not take notes and will lose the notes you provided him requiring you to micro manage him/assistants as they FUDGE things up (installed exterior light so it shines in my neighbors window - NOT where I asked and installed an attic outlet 8ft high - I am 5 foot 6) - When running all new wire he picked cheap un-grounded wire then refused to provide any list of materials because "they are ordered in bulk" - Does not answer the phone - took him almost a month to reply to an electrical spark/fire I had where he was instructed to be working. NOTE: he only replied to strong arm payment not to fix the electrical disaster he left me with. - Will not honor verbal quotes and then proceed to place exaggerated/fraudulent liens on you for questioning his work and wanting another opinion before paying. Did NOT COMPLE the job and most of it was done so poor it did not work (could not charge my phone in one of his 'brand new' outlets) - Refused to provide an adequate itemized bill (missing hours worked and materials used)"

"5 years ago we purchased solar panels and this year we had a major problem but the company we dealt with was out of business. J&A Electrical helped us, worked with the company to get us the inverter and other part(s) on warranty and came out and replaced the units. There isn't alot of money to be made in this type of repair, so we were very grateful to have someone go out of their way ... but that's only part of our experience. From the first interaction, there was reliable communication - they kept us updated each step of the way, did excellent and professional work while they were here, and even helped us get the serial number for the inverter swapped out so the monitoring app will work. Reliable, professional, reasonably priced AND they communicated with us through the entire process ... I can't remember a time when I've been so impressed with a company. I don't hesitate to recommend them (they are doing work at my daughter's) -- and I am thrilled to have a reliable electrician in my contacts."

"J&A installed our 5kW rooftop solar system. CNY Solar did our quote and system design. Justin at CNY was helpful but after the deposit all our contact was with Jason and Amanda at J&A electrical - the hand off was unexpected, but I highly recommend J&A after working with them. Amanda was responsive and friendly via email and phone. Jason did a great job with the install on our garage with standing seam roof. He integrated the system with a backup generator with no problem. He replaced a failed micro inverter in the second month quickly and with no hassle. The system looks good and secure and has been operating well for about 6 months so far."

"J&A did good quality work on our solar install. Jason and Amanda were professional in their correspondence and answered questions quickly. The solar panels on our home are very well secured (we live on top of a hill that gets a lot of wind and they have stayed secure). Inspectors came to check their work and said it was very well done. We were connected with J&A via CNY Solar and there was some initial confusion on our part over CNY Solar's role vs J&A's role; all went smoothly in the end."

"Our 7.9 kWp (31 panel) solar system was installed in December 2014 as part of the Solarize Syracuse program. In August 2020, we realized one of our panels had no output, and learned that the business that did the installation had folded under the weight of the COVID crises in early 2020. We were referred to J&A Electrical Construction, and they diagnosed and replaced a faulty optimizer, restoring our system. Subsequently, in November 2020, we had a second optimizer fail, and they once again did the repair. Our experience with J&A has been very positive. They have been very responsive in Emails to address our issues, timely in obtaining replacement optimizers, prompt in performing the repairs and the subsequent linking (remotely pairing) the new optimizers to Solaredge Monitoring. I highly recommend J&A for the knowledge, efficiency, and pleasantness we have experienced in their servicing of our solar system."
