"The bar for professionalism from real estate brokers is low enough as it is, but attempting to work with Willie Garçon at Ideal Properties Group may have lowered it even more. He sent my roommate and me to a building in Brooklyn which he listed on StreetEasy, and upon our arrival he told us to wait for somebody to leave or enter the building and ask them to let us in because he didn’t have the key. We were already annoyed and suspicious of these strange instructions, but we were able to buzz the super and get the door unlocked. Upon viewing the apartment we realized it was very clearly a one-bedroom unit despite being listed as two on literally every platform we used to search for it. He tried to argue with my roommate and say that it had been listed as a one bed, but the screenshots we took didn’t lie. Still, typical behavior for an NYC broker, so we decided to ask if there was any other available 2 bed in the building. Willie said yes, then sent us up to the sixth floor to yet another one bedroom for which he didn’t have the key. Eventually we tracked down the super to try and get some information about units in the building and we learned that there were, in fact, no two bedrooms. All the while, Willie was texting us and claiming he was on the way. The cherry on top was when Willie called my roommate to try and get us to come see a property that’s been sitting on the market for months, and for good reason—it looked awful! And of course he offered no apology for wasting our time. I guess when you’re not collecting an exorbitant fee on luxury properties, renters aren’t worth your time."
