"We rented an apartment from Andre during the pandemic, and we did not have the best experience. He is definitely a reason why people usually don´t trust real estate agents. They only allowed unaccompanied viewings, so we never actually met Andre in person. The super let us in and explained the building amenities to us. All the communication went through email, phone, and text. It was very frustrating working with him, as he didn´t seem to have a lot of knowledge about the building. Most of the time, he had to get back to us to inquire about the information from the management. Of course, we understand that you cannot know everything, but since this was an exclusive listing to him, he should have been able to represent his listings to the best of his abilities and be knowledgable about them. The brochure that was left in the apartment was also misleading since the building doesn´t have a bike storage. The apartment was on the market for a few months due to the pandemic, but as soon as we saw it, he rushed us to make a decision quickly as supposedly, someone else was interested in it. He sent us the lease, and when we had questions about specifics in the lease he seemed to be plastered and didn´t know what we were talking about. I doubt he has ever carefully read what he sent to us. He also sent us the DOS disclosure form with the lease, which I didn´t feel comfortable as well as you are legally supposed to present it to your clients upon the first meeting. I ended up signing it since he kept sending it to us via email and kept calling us. He has never once reached out to us afterward to check up on us and see if everything is alright with the apartment. Do yourself a favor and work with an agent who cares about his client and is knowledgeable instead of just caring about making his commission."
