"I don’t appreciate being harassed or lied to in order to enter my apartment, I’ve filed complaints with THPT along with the Ithaca Chapter tenants union and ETC. Mr. Rivera has been a grave displeasure to work with in my three years of living in nyc. His biased practices and unethical treatment towards me and my household is disgusting. I have a section 8 voucher and it’s my belief that’s the reason he thinks I must be uneducated and he can treat me however. I have proofs of being retaliated against by the landlords within the first two months of being convinced by Rovera to take that apartment in a home of first buyers that never cared to learn anything about being landlords (just wanted my rent/mortgage money) so when they entered my apartment illegally and had a problem with me addressing it I was told they were willing to break the lease(which section 8 won’t allow regardless) and “I could go” this was co-signed by Mr. Rivera then and now as they are still harassing me about leaving. I’m a stand up renter, I’ve destroyed nothing and have bothered no one. I have been searching on my own time because I’m tired of the nonsense as far as leaving. If they want me out sooner tell them to take the actions they need to. In the meantime I’ve kept every entity around me that I could utilize informed of every single incident in which they’ve harassed me and/or retaliated. Mr. Rivera is the property manager and at first seemed extremely pleasant, even brought me a gift the first two weeks I was in the home. However his loyalty is to the bigger bucks regardless of who’s in the wrong. I’m the renter they brought the house… renters beware. And home owners, feel your tenant out and if they don’t meet your personal criteria then don’t rent to ppl just for a check and take the ill advice of someone looking to get paid. We are human and have rights."
