"I came here and there was a guy hiding outside the laundry and i went next door for 2 minutes and got a boot on my car. I had to pay $400 cash app to get my car back. I want my $400! Shut this place down"
"At about 4:00 pm on August 8, 2023, I parked at a near empty lot in front of Jack's Laundromat at 410 Bloomfield Ave. in Newark, at the edge of Bloomfield, for less than 10 minutes and came back to a man standing by my car and a red boot on my left front tire. He, and his manager who soon drove up, identified as Mark Gonzalez on his "Boot Installer" badge, insisted on $305 cash to remove the boot. In order to recover ownership of my car and be able to leave, I paid the cash. His associate then removed the boot and I drove away. I filed a criminal complaint with the Newark Police for the theft of my car. JMV employees, under the owner James H. Lewis's direction and pursuant to a contract with Jack's Laundromat, illegally and without authorization per rule § 8:19-10, obtained my car. Google the article on Jack's Laundromat and Parking Boot Service in North Arlington 2017. Both companies should be aware of Newark's rules since they are operating businesses there. In addition to violating the township's rule on booting, JMV Parking Boot Services employees, authorized by Jack's Laundromat as indicated by the sign, may have committed theft of my car, which law enforcement will decide whether to charge. As I read the NJ statutes on theft, LMV's actions may meet the elements of at least three NJ criminal statutes: theft by unlawful taking or disposition, theft by deception, and theft by extortion."
"If this “business” were to disappear tomorrow, you feel immediately feel how much better the world is. This place is clearly nothing but a scheme for the owners to make money from booting and towing cars even if you’re already there to use their services. Avoid this place like the plague, because it’s just that!"
"IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!!!!!! (Read before you go here; do not become another victim) There’s a boot service that waits right in the parking lot of the establishment. I was a victim of this scam. I went to Wells Fargo that looks connected to the plaza. I left for two seconds come back and my car has two boots on it. The boot service representative approaches me with his phone asking for cash app $400 on the spot for removal or else. The laundry mat knows what there doing. They get everyone with this. 0 stars if possible."
"Extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism taken at this establishment. They hire a lackluster booting service called JMV Parking Boot Service. I left my car for 10-15 minutes and return with 2 boots that cost $300 to take off. The woman who booted my car was extremely unprofessional and had me questioning if her service was even legit or not due to the unprofessional way she was dressed and how unprofessional her Cashapp name was when I was paying the fee. Seeing as though I'm not the only one who's had a terrible experience with this place, legit business or not, both Jack's Laundromat and JMV Parking Boot Service are SCAMS and do not care about the hardworking people of Newark."
