Reviews of Southhold Landfill-Solid Waste
"My friend took me to the Southold Landfill “ dump” and it was a joyous experience ! Many residents prefer to bring their garbage there rather than pay for their trash to be picked ip at their homes!"
"Great place has an awesome reuse area on Fri Sat Sun run by Cindy got 4 of these beautiful chairs there"
"Watch out for the new sticker turnover fees. They don't post the 2 week grace period for renewal except on a flashing sign that cycles every 15 seconds or so. You can drive right past it. They collect $5 bills all day long. What are the odds that money makes it back into the municipal pot?"
"It's a landfill. Make sure household garbage is in yellow town bags, separate recyclables when you're there (not a tragedy, stop complaining) and BACK INTO the parking spaces next to the wall where you deposit your trash. When there isn't a pandemic, there's also a FREE yard sale section. Stuff that you don't want anymore that you can't be bothered to sell at your own yard sale is placed in a fenced off section and it's all free. Once when I was carrying a box of stuff to donate, several old women descended on me and picked me clean before I even walked through the gate. Kind of funny."
"Clean, offers recycling, and the staff is helpful. If you have a lot of trash, you go over the scale and they charge you fairly. The sticker is also very worth it if you have a lot of trash."
