Building Department

"I just wanted to buy a land, build a home and input my taxes into this community. The only thing I wanted to know - can I save some money by placing manufacturing or mobile home, or should I build the regular stick house. I spoke with the Building Department Planning Examiner Kate. I was polite and just asked few questions. Kate was extremely rude, non-polite and non-friendly. She is a shame of the city and of the community. I can't understand how such people can work there. Anyway, I believe people of Babylon and the Commissioner should know they waste thousands of dollars of their taxes annually to pay salaries to such non-professional employees as Kate. Non only she wastes these money. She prevents people like me to spend hundred of thousands in this community. It is not a surprise schools are low rated in some hamlets here. Keep Kate at her job and in the future you will become an abandoned Detroit."

"I will take this down eventually . It’s a great township , the people their are really sweet , the only thing I don’t like about the building department is that they have business they love and business they don’t care about , they should treat every permit the same . I don’t understand how someone can get a permit backed typed the same day and some companies take months to get permits back . That doesn’t make sense . Can we step it up . Can we evenly get treated and stop with giving people permits back because of likes . I waited over 12 weeks to get permits back while other companies get them back the same day or if not the next day . It doesn’t make sense . Please just be even . It’s a fair country fair county so be fair . It shouldn’t take months to get permits back while other solar companies take days . In this world counties shouldn’t have favoritism . Unless there is under the books curroption going on ... which I doubt or at least I hope not . But to wait months for permits is beyond crazy . Really disappointed the customer ended up cancelling cuase of like of getting permits back it’s a shame . We need to step it up as a county and work together as a team ."

"Never had any problems. Followed their instructions until permits receive and inspections were finalized. The staff was very friendly and always helping when I had questions."
