"Had my water meter “replaced” a few years back for a newer model, however, they never removed the old meter from before 1960 which ended up contracting a pinhole leak and flooding my whole basement. After waiting 45 minutes to speak to a representative, I was able to secure a repair 24+ hours later, had to go a whole day without water only to have the repair man butcher the job and install a pressfit solution for the main water line to my home. I am by no means a plumber but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the solution implemented by SCWA was disastrous and destined to fail. Another major red flag by the contractor assigned by SCWA was that he never even opened the valve after installation to check his work, just up and left as soon as he could. Crazy how as homeowners, we have to follow building codes to the T, but yet SCWA seems to be immune. Not sure if this is a matter of poor training or lack of effort, but this cannot slide. I am now worried to leave my house for any extended period of time as this can prove tragic to me due to the replacement job done. Customer service: -1 Workmanship: -5 Intelligence: -infinity Seems like the only thing SCWA gets right and does correctly is taking all of our money every month and hoarding it. Other than that, I’d trust a 3 year old to do a better replacement than the one done by SCWA One last thing I may note for any future readers; they say after the replacement, you, the homeowner are liable for any further deterioration to the repair. However the hardware used in the repair is unobtainable to me, I’ve checked HD and lowes for replacement for the tubing used to no avail. How am I supposed to be liable for something when I can’t get my hands on the hardware. Almost seems like the scenario Apple was in a few years back before having to release the repair tools required for their phones to the public. However, Apple is a Blue Chip Corporation, and SCWA is a public utility service, make it make sense I guess, that seems to be their thing."

"The meter cover in front of my house was run over by a firetruck and broken, I reported it and a crew arrived the next day to replace it. The workers were polite, courteous and neat in their workmanship. Thank you Matt and Gerald for a job well done. Ed McDowell"

"Horrible. I have extremely low water pressure, which is impacting all phases of my home life. over 1 month period their workers have come to my home AND, couldnt access a valve inder ground at curbside; had to call another team. 2 weeks later they show up to access and fix a a faulty valve but couldnt proceed to check and improve water flow..." dont have such equipment" need to send another team, I told my supervisor to rush it"..3 weeks later NO ONE HAS SHOWN UP..I have very little water pressure. Perhaps it is time to call NEWSDAY, because they are ignoring me and have shown nothing but excuses."
