"I've only had one experience so far and it was quite positive. After erroneously calling suffolk sewers regarding a sewer drainage issue/flooding problem on my block, I was referred to the Islip DPW. After an initial discussion I was transferred to Alicia, who listened to the concerns my neighbors and I have and agreed to send a crew to assess for any blockages/obstructions and then review potential further improvement possibilities in a subsequent rainfall. I'm hopeful they will do what they said they will which would significantly reduce the high risk of property damage we've been facing during even moderate rainfall."

"The worst dpw on the island. They are lazy, incompetent, do the below bare minimum, and do not care whatsoever. They will push a work order off time and time again. From secretaries to the supervisors they are all rude and will not complete any work orders."

"We have a RAT problem on our streets stemming from the dirty, overgrown, full of garbage, sump at the end of our street and we have contacted the Town numerous times asking that they clean it up, but all we get are empty promises and NO ACTION!! WHAT WILL IT TAKE? I guess they forget that our taxes pay their salaries."
