"Itβs a beautiful park, lots of trails, but no signs and instructions how to navigate the vast park. No amazing view, no river, no beach, nothing but trees and grass."
"Great place to go mountain biking or hike. Many people bring their dogs for a walk too."
"Nice place for an easy hike or ride. Just a heads up. There is a wide open field for an RC model club. It's best to keep clear of the area or proceed with caution. The aircraft can be dangerous. Avoid the field when there are flyers there. They pay for the permit and field maintenance and are not being disrespectful if they ask you to clear the area. They're just being careful."
"The Chilling history of America's medical experiments on humans took place on this property in the 1930s and 40s. By the 1960s, the facility had grown into the largest mental hospital in the world. Some of the old railroad tracks are seen in the East South East part of the park. The trains transported patients, doctors and nurses along with coal trains for the power station on the secondary track. It was called the Edgewood Spur to the LIRR. FYI there are still hatches to an underground labyrinth used for steam power. Enjoy your adventures and be careful. I found evidence of homeless residing in tunnels."
"We just got out of there with a local friend, we ride the bicycle on their 5.5 miles bycicle road, it was exhausting but totally worth it if you like to byke. Also there is a hiking road for you to enjoy the nature. There's free parking and tables for you to eat something outside."
