"Very inefficient, slow moving,...issues get passed around amongst several employees before getting to the right person. Staff is unpleasant in tone and demeanor, rush you off the phone and with a bad attitude. They really need to step up their game."

"I am not convinced there are "agents" that work in the Town of Brookhaven-why have "operators" that "transfer your call" just to hang up on the caller when you hit "0" for operator? Not a single other town on LI is like this. Wow."

"I had a problem and did not know where to go or what to do, I do not speak English and I am new to the town, I went to the building division and met an African-American lady (I mention her race because my gratitude is for her and I do not know her name) the kindest and most diligent person I had ever met, wow!! this lady is in security at the main door of the building division, she without being able to find out by my language, she guided me to the different places, she helped me enormously, I look for someone to translate me, in short, I arrived super worried and left there super grateful, God bless her. The other employees are also friendly and helpful"

"Absolutely horrendous. Waiting for a new construction CofO. House was completed 3 months ago. Called Building department more than 3 times, got a recording to leave name and number, no one calls back. Every time I try to speak with an individual named Tara she’s never there. I was told 10 working days since paperwork was finalized, now we’re going on 3 weeks. One nice woman I spoke to claimed they’re extremely short staffed and department supervisor doesn’t want to hire additional people. For 23K a year in taxes residents should get better service."
