"-The door is always locked and I live like 40 minutes away. -I've traveled to this store multiple times during listed hours of operation, (10-3) doors always locked lights always off -I never see anyone inside. -I wonder if they ever do business as I can never go in"
"The first thing I would say is that when it comes to protecting your own, there is nothing wrong with that! Approximately 4 years ago, I made the mistake of judging a book by its cover so to speak. Now while I am definitely not the easiest person to get along with, I cannot express my gratitude nor my pure shock that someone like me was actually able to make things right. Here's the thing though about coins... They represent both people places things events and so forth. This Oneonta coin company, frankly never should have forgiven me for my harsh judgment. But yet they did. Does this perhaps sound familiar? Coins, especially rare ones, represent good people making decisions and moving forward and learning how to forgive understand comprehend and value the stories behind the coins. But sometimes it's also the stories between a buyer and a seller that really make the difference in finding a good retailer. If you are looking for professionalism, honesty, hard work, and a respect of history and how it helps shape both the present day and future, you need not go any further than Oneonta Coin Company in Oneonta New York. You will be astonished at their inventory, but you will also be even more impressed by the level of professionalism that they do in fact display. And if you want proof of that, this review is meant to accomplish that. Because if they can forgive me for having a bad day and then saying some bad stuff and then still be willing to work with me, they deserve everyone's respect!"
"Update: My previously scathing review while at that time was harsh, now requires an update which is standard practice for critics. During the process of evaluating any kind of retailer, there are always multiple sides and edges that need to be sanded and perfected in order to provide the best possible image of a given retailer. Despite my scathing review however, the owner (I think) welcomed me into the store to discuss the prior review which I am now amending. Our conversation was respectful, same as the reminder of my previous review which was nowhere near respectful.. Sometimes critics get it right, and other times we get it wrong. But I can tell you that I stand corrected. I deeply appreciate the respectful candor."
"Very nice selection of antiques, in addition to coins and collectibles. Jim was very attentive and courteous, and gave me a better price than anyone else in the area on some gold jewelry I wanted to sell. He is extremely knowledgeable and I was very pleased with our interaction and hope to do business with him again."
"Knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Brought in some old jewelry and was given a great price on it, especially after shopping around, Jim gave me the best deal of anyone else. I also got some coin things for my dad who is a collector (that I knew nothing about) but he was very knowledgeable and knew just what he was talking about. I found some nice antiques there that I gave as gifts as well."
