Reviews
"I’m new to the area from CT and wasn’t aware of these extremely strict laws for parking at the McAllister State Park… $100 is absolutely insane."
"They where very helpful when asking for directions. Assisted my grandmother geting out of the car."
"They have become more aggressive in restricting access / freedom of movement to McAlister County Park by now erecting no stopping signs and aggressively targeting anyone who stops for a brief moment. I was basically harassed when stoped at the end at the turn around trying to put in a destination in my GPS when all the parking spots were taken. I was then followed out. I have many police that are friends, neighbors, etc and I’m local to Mount Sinai, but this police department is now verging on unconstitutional. I will be writing a complaint to the Suffolk County Parks Department and taking photos of the area and new signage based on my recent encounter with the police department there on Memorial Day 2023."
"The local "cop" in this town is an excellent example of someone who is abusing his power for lack of anything better to do. Harrassing someone for driving through the town, and ultimately ticketing them for doing nothing wrong is a gross misuse of the law. This experience exemplifies all that is wrong with the police force in America. Power hungry individuals who have been poorly trained and given far too much power with no accountability."
