Reviews
"One of thee most amazing and attenative cemeteries and staff that i have ever delt with. I have zero idea what the other reviews were about but i can tell you from personal experience that everything is handled and lightning speed if there’s any issues handled same second I have never ever dealt with anybody so responsive in my life thank you New Montifiore and staff"
"I see a number of previous reviews discussing how rude the office staff are, and that was my experience today. While sitting in our car for 15 minutes past the scheduled start time for a memorial, there was some confusion around whether or not it was time to drive to the grave. A nasty male employee with a clipboard started SCREAMING at drivers who were moving forward, and then yelled out "they're a bunch of ducks following one another" at which point I rolled down my window, reminded him he was speaking to grieving family members and should be more respectful. His response was, "this isn't my first rodeo" as if longevity in a position somehow granted him the right to be rude and disrespectful. In addition, when it was verified we should move forward, one female employee was waving us in while the one standing directly behind her held her hand up to stop. It became quite clear then why mourners were confused. A lack of respect to bereaved loved ones deserves zero stars. A lack of insight into how disgraceful his rude behavior was (even once reminded) deserves negative stars. However, these are not options so I've selected one star."
"We buried my mother two days ago. We had a great service ,wonderful Rabbi. the workers were wonderful. ( not the office staff ) While I was in NY we had requests from family members to visit the graves of beloved family members. UPDATE YOUR MAP!! And make it easier to find ppl. It was impossible to find ppl as the sidewalks were not marked . You are using the Maps from 30 YEARS AGO . We were unable to fulfill that mitzvah. 2022 people. Please get with the program… this is shameful."
"Just had a burial for my grandmother there and that went pretty well. However, trying to find other family members was nightmarish and their maps sucked! No exact placements, just a general area. We spent 20-30 minutes looking for our family members and were completely lost. Some of the maintenance folks tried to help but the office people left a lot to be desired. So many gravesites are crowded or overgrown. It’s just really sad."
"My immediate family members are buried there, as are other family members. I have found the staff to be incredibly rude and uncaring. Despite the fact that my contacts with them for burials and care for the graves took place well into the 21st century, they refuse to use modern communication methods like e-mails. Notice that the website is not interactive; the "contact us" does not list last names, an e-mail address for general inquiries, or other information: no price list for graves is provided; one has to open a PDF file to get the price for perpetual care. One expects more in 2016. In an age where credit cards, apps and on-line payments are used for everything from $2.00 items to cars, notice that the cemetery only accepts payments by checks: no bank transfers, no credit cards .... I once wanted to pay for the entire cost of something in one check. I was rudely told "That's NOT how we do it! We'll send you an invoice every month for two years, until it's paid off." (!!) Nor do they care for the site well. I have pictures of paths -- and even some graves -- with litter on them, which obviously hadn't been removed for some time. In short, the barest minimum of services are provided. People may be dying to get in there, but don't expect the living family members or friends to be treated with any kind of compassion or respect, much less minimum courtesy."
