Reviews of Camp Maritime
"Our girls (5 and 8) had an unreal experience at Camp Maritime. They pushed their limits in healthy ways and came home sun soaked and excited to tell us about their adventures on the water. Hamid especially was both an amazing caretaker and guide, and so kind and accommodating of our transportation needs. There is no other camp like this, and we feel so lucky to have found it!"
"Our daughter, who’s almost 9, had a great time at Camp Maritime. The staff is super dedicated, expert at what they do and really friendly. There’s a wonderful range of activities. The only drawbacks are that it was a very long day (730am-6pm) since we live far from Coney Island, and since it’s a water sports camp, it gets cancelled if it rains which is hard if you have two working parents. But it’s a really fun and unique camp experience!"
"We participated for 4 weeks with our 5 year old in the camp. He daily was out in the sand and water learning to fish, seeing crabs, paddle boarding, kayaking, and given opportunities to ride on donut and hot dog tubes. At his age he could not participate in all activities however even not being a proficient swimmer he could participate. They were diligent about making sure my son reapplied sunblock and took time to eat his lunch each day. Overall my son had a good experience even at a young age. Older kids would go on jet skis, skim board, wake board and do high jumps into the water in addition to the other activities."
"I have 4 teens and I wanted them to have a nature and educational based experience this summer. Free camps weren’t as fun and professional for the kids and some of the educational camps were so expensive it was out of our budget. As a middle income household this camp was THEE best of both worlds! My 13, 15, 16 & 17 (yes 17yr old) went to camp Maritime and had a BALL! Everyday they came home with knowledge and experience in different water sports! Made friends (even w the younger kids) and got an opportunity and experience that most inner city children don’t get! They were talking about wind and how it played a part in knowing how to surf and couldn’t wait to wake up daily to attend camp! I can’t thank Elliot, Jeff and the camp counselors at camp maritime enough for giving my kids this water sport experience where they grew mentally and physically! I would 1000% recommend"
"My son has always been hesitant about attending any camp, but this experience has completely changed his perspective. The counselors Jeffrey, Nick, and Hamid were absolutely wonderful. They, along with the rest of the team, made him feel welcome, engaged, and excited every day. Their dedication and enthusiasm truly made a difference, and I couldn't be happier with the positive impact this camp has had on my son. Highly recommend!"
