Reviews of William H Pouch Boy Scout Camp
"the environment to be fair. The natural scenery was pleasant enough, although it didn't quite take my breath away. However, the main issue for me was the restroom facilities, which were quite basic and rudimentary. They could definitely use some updating to enhance the overall experience. While this site is okay for a short stay if you're not too fussy, those looking for a bit more comfort might find the amenities lacking"
"Our BSA troop booked cabins on a March night that received over three inches of rain with flood advisories, such that we had to cancel our trip. The staff wouldn't even give us a future credit for the money we spent on the reservation. It is unprincipled for a BSA-related entity to make money while providing no service."
"This is one of the gems here on Staten Island! When you go for a hike, you will feel like you are upstate! High Rock and the Kaufman camp are all connected with Pouch, so there is a nice piece of wilderness!"
"Thank God for Camp Pouch. I discovered this gem when my boy recently joined Cub Scouts. Amazing Facility for young people. This is really one of Staten Island's Hidden Gems!"
"Great place for camping. Doesn't feel like you are in Staten Island. Scout Store with everything you would need in there. Bathrooms are terrible. Bring a portable toilet and pop up privacy tent if you don't want to do the walk or deal with the dirty bathrooms or latrines"
