Reviews
"The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, spanning the New York Harbor, stands as a remarkable feat of engineering and a symbol of New York's grandeur. As my favorite bridge in the city, it offers not only an essential connection between Staten Island and Brooklyn but also an impressive architectural marvel that never fails to captivate. Stretching over two miles, the bridge's sweeping cables and towering double-decker design are a testament to human ingenuity and perseverance. Driving across, one can truly appreciate the panoramic views of the skyline and the bustling harbor below. Whether it's the serene early morning light or the stunning evening glow, the bridge provides an ever-changing canvas of natural beauty. Moreover, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge holds historical significance as one of the longest suspension bridges in the world upon its completion in 1964. It's not just a pathway for vehicles but a vital link that has facilitated growth and development in the surrounding boroughs. For anyone visiting or living in New York, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is more than a mere structure—it's a breathtaking experience that encapsulates the spirit and dynamism of the city."
"The longest single span suspension bridge in U.S., 10 meters longer than Golden Bridge in San Francisco- Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge! It is the sea gate of New York! Beautiful and magnificent!"
"The bridge is named after 16th-century explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano—the first European to sail into New York Harbor. Its official name was spelled with just one “z” until 2018, when it was corrected."
"I've been crossing this bridge for years. Since it was $7. Sunrises and sunsets never get old here. When it's windy, you feel your vehicle move and realize how powerful wind can be. Truck and motorcycle bans due to high winds is common. I would recommend finding out if those bans are in place when weather is bad. The traffic usually comes to halt about a mile or so out from bridge when that happens. Nonetheless, it's the fastest and most convenient way to i95 for many people in NYC area. And its a bridge that's a final destination for many. Lots of great parks, restaurants and golf courses."
