Reviews
"Rabbi is a wolf in sheep's clothing, personally witnessed him behaving contrary to his own teachings, and the congregation are always amazed at how each other behaves (erroneously)--not all but enough to make this more a social club than a temple."
"As a new Staten Islander, joining Temple Israel was the best decision our family made. Our two young children have found faith, holiday fun, and friends and we have found a wonderful community."
"We inititally joined just for the religious school. My child is now in confirmation class lead by Rabbi Howald and she loves the discussions based around critical thinking and I've come to really appreciate the community and friends I've made."
"I went there with two little girls about six years ago who after service ate fruit and enjoyed the food. Rabbi was zealously guarding the food and pretty much told me that the food was not for kids who were non-members. I will never return there again. Only thing they cared about was membership money for the food. I don’t think Jesus is the Christ but I did return to the Catholic Church where the children were fed to their hearts content. Also I saw several members border on weird almost adoration of this rabbi that made me uncomfortable"
"Warm and friendly! Many activities to get involved with. If you have an interest in doing good for the community you can find a group to join. The Rabbi is wonderful . Very easy to talk to and is more the happy to discuss many different subjects about judaism."
