About the Business
Welcome to The International Synagogue
Located at 4 Central Terminal Area, Queens, New York 11430, The International Synagogue stands as a unique sanctuary within one of the world's busiest transportation hubs. Serving as a beacon for Jewish travelers from around the globe, our synagogue offers a wide range of services to meet the spiritual and personal needs of those in transit.
For over 50 years, The International Synagogue — also known as The Rabbi Alvin and Rosalind Poplackz"l Memorial Chapel — has been dedicated to supporting the Jewish community with essential religious services, including prayer, rabbinic counseling, and mourner services. Whether you are looking for a moment of peace before your journey or seeking guidance during your travels, our doors are always open to welcome you.
Our mission is to ease the burden of travel by providing a comforting and supportive environment within JFK's international terminal. Additionally, we extend our services online, ensuring that Jewish travelers have access to valuable resources no matter where they are in the world.
The International Synagogue has also played a significant role in community support, serving as a staging area for sending off Israeli soldiers returning home to defend their country. With the help of dedicated volunteers, we have packed and shipped essential supplies, including food, toiletries, and more, to support those on the front lines.
Visit us to experience a place of worship that truly understands the needs of the global Jewish traveler. We look forward to being part of your journey.

Reviews
"Judging by the reviews, it must have been cool, but as of right now..... its not there. The Port Authority is working on T1 as of 7/26/24 so.... hopefully it will be back soon."
"The JFK's synagogue is located in terminal 4, near the two christian chapels and the Muslim mosque. Before security! The synagogueis nice and specious, even viviv and colorful with children's paintings. I recommend a visit to rest and recuperate both for the believer and the moon believer. Large flags of the USA and Israel"
"It’s so great that there’s a shul in the airport"
"A beautiful place to sit and learn while waiting for your flight to Israel. Has some outlets in the women's sections."
