"On October 2,2023 (my ticket # was A 238 9:22:04 am ) I visited 627 Parkside Ave Brooklyn NY social security office. I gave my appeal paperwork to the representative who informed me that I would receive a letter from the State and would be assigned a state representative who would call me. I did not receive any correspondence or call from the state. The many calls I made to the ssa office went unanswered . On March 18 2024 I returned to Parkside Ave office because nobody answered the phone at the Parkside office and I had not received any mail or phone call from the state. The worker looked up my case then she called over a coworker and that coworker called over a third coworker to look at the computer and I heard the three of them talking discussing that somebody else's documents were added to my file . I was stunned. They discussed with the first worker making the corrections. I was informed that my case had not reached the next phase (state) because the initial worker had not completed the task since october 2 2023. (further delay) I was quite alarmed at this irresponsible, careless and unapologetic handling of my personal information. The workers did not offer an apology and it seemed like it was no big deal. I was very stunned, alarmed and nervous about the handling of my personal info. I was then provided about 10 pages to fill out again which I had previously provided. As I was unable to complete the paperwork due to pain and brain fog I had to return. I waited very long in very uncomfortable chairs which made my pain worse. I was told to return with the completed forms asap but I would not be afforded a shorter wait time when I returned. I returned on March 25 2024 (ticket # A 356 9:53:40 am) I provided the completed forms to Ms Lopez who informed me that the case would move to the next phase (state) within2-3 weeks. I voiced my concerns about the mishandling of my personal info. She checked and said that it was taken care of. It is now June 4th and still no contact from the state. I've called the 1800 # she gave me many times, the phone rings but no answer. Also on Oct 2 2023 the guard, the taller one was very rude and abrasive. On March 18 2024 the same guard was rude and abrasive with my husband who asked to use the bathroom yelling "this is not a public bathroom ". This guard seems to incite people with his unwarranted, deplorable, disrespectful, aggressive and unprofessional behavior. The other guard is pleasant and very professional while maintaining order. I am very disappointed and concerned with the careless and irresponsible handling of my personal information. Is it fraud or incompetence? I am disabled and in constant pain and this environment is very harmful to my well-being. Today when I received a call asking me to come in for a medical evaluation IMA I requested a phone # to call to see if I could call to see who my rep was. Again, another failure, the phone # (automated) that I was provided did not offer an option to speak with anyone who could assist me. This system is very disorganized, broken, ineffective and making it impossible for me to receive assistance after working so many years as a nurse. I'm still not confident that my info is safe. I firmly believe that this office should be investigated."
"Ms.jones from the Parkside flatbush social security office was very rude to me for no reason. I called to reschedule a appointment via telephone i had missed because I have a new number, she kept speaking down on me saying what is she supposed to do , it’s my responsibility to have been called and updated the number. I told her I understand, I have alot going on in my life it slipped my mind to update ssi. She then proceeds to give me a hard time about getting a new appointment scheduled letting me know there’s nothing she can do and there is no appointments online, that i have to walk into the ssi office. I asked her to update my phone number. She made it seem like she did. I told her may I speak with a supervisor she told me no supervisor is available, I asked her why not she responded laughing they have more important things to take care of, I let her know this conversation is recorded and she hung up. I also want to mentioned she asked me for my child’s ssi number which is fine but then asked me more information then usual such as her fathers name and what hospital was she in born in, she sounded like a scammer. I never got asked both of those questions before. I’m very upset with the service I have received. After she hung up I called again and spoke with a nice older woman, I informed her what was going on and she was able to help me. She also let me know that ms.jones did not update my phone number but she will be glad to do so. It’s very sad how Ms.jones is filled with a lot of hate & did not respect me or my time. She lied about updating my phone number , hung up on me and laughed at me. She needs to be held accountable for her actions."
"IMPORTANT: this location only handles updating benefits. If you’re like me and go in for updating your social security information. Good luck. They’ll make you go to 154 Pierrepont St. The office should update the information on their site- unless I have missed it."
"Your security guard is rude and disrespectful. He refer to my disable veteran brother as chief, not sir. It’s sad that this is our first time there. Unprofessional all the way. I left without seeing anyone because he throw us out. My brother couldn’t take off his belt, his pants would have fallen to the floor. He spoke to this unprofessional man with respect and he couldn’t do the same. So I called the lawyer to deal with your ghetto environment. Hire better people, not ghetto people."
"Most disrespectful place!!! I called in to speak to someone about my daughter case and was told that she would receive a letter in the mail it’s been almost a month nothing then they close the case to me having to call again to then being told to come back in to reopen the case when I ask for an appointment time to come in I was yelled at by a Haitian man telling me what do I want him to do! Just come in And hung up on me! Why have ppl like this work if they have no patience or respect to be speaking to the public. 2/20/24 1:49pm."
