"I had to download an ap and do the check in all by myself. No one there to help, just someone in charge of cleaning the trucks (and it wasn't his job to have to deal with all of us returning equipment). It was not after hours (Friday mid-afternoon). There's no excuse not to have someone helping people return their vehicles. I feel like U Haul is trying to avoid hiring someone and instead is making the customer do all the work instead."
"I reserved my truck so I could pick it up before the location opened. There was no key left for me and I had to wait 2 hours for the store to open so I could get a truck. When I called customer support to see if I could change my reservation from a truck to a van for a 1-way trip they told me I could, but when I went to the store to make this change they told me I couldn’t. There seems to be a lack of knowledge since both parties are saying different things. Finally, my bill showed I had the truck for 3 days. I only reserved the truck for 1 day, so I assumed they allowed us 3 days to return the truck. We returned the truck on day 2 (thank God we didn’t wait 3 days to return it) and was charged for an extra day. The bill should make it CLEAR if you decide to keep the truck until the date listed on your bill you will be charged extra. The good thing about our reservation was the truck was clean and drop off was fairly easy."
"the app didn't work and I had to quit and restart it a number of times, with the supervision of an employee there to get it to work. I have rented from this location many times and this "new, automated, app-based" system took the longest and was the least pleasant. Then I was given the keys to a truck, but was not told where it was. I wandered around the yard for a few minutes, but couldn't find it. I went back inside and the agent came out and couldn't find it either. They gave me the keys to another truck. At this point, I was critically late for a pickup I was scheduled to do with the truck. I got in the new truck and the gas light was on. The Gauge read EMPTY. I went inside, quite mad at this point, and after a few minutes, was given the keys to a third truck. It was parked deep inside a line of trucks, and I could barely open the door to get in. then I had to carefully drive it out of a long line of trucks parked very close together. I would have though the lot guys would have taken the truck out of close storage for the customer. It was a HORRIBLE rental experience, and I was 45 minutes late getting the truck."
"Horrible Mobile pickup experience late at night after store hours. Went to go pick up a Cargo Van so i can move some stuff quickly. Was suppose to be a quick pick up and drop off. When i arrived around 9:30 i noticed 80% of the U-Haul's in the lot are being blocked off by other U-Haul trucks. I assumed it shouldn't be a problem and that the truck i rented wasnt blocked off. To my surprise my rental was not blocked off. As I walk towards my rental the USELESS U-Haul app would not track my location properly for about 10 min. Then I spent another 20 minutes trying to scan my Driver's License with their stupid on app scanner that didnt work till i contacted customer support and waited another 10 minutes. Okay everything's cool right? WRONG. The last person to use the U-Haul I rented did not put the key in the right lock box. Im assuming the employees didnt check that the lockbox was organized correctly before they left for the night. I said to myself "Okay customer support should be able to help me". WRONG AGAIN. Phone Support had me walking around the lot like a mad man looking for specific Vans/Trucks that were available for mobile pickup according to them. I could not find 2 out of the 5 U-Haul's they offered to switch me to and the other 3 were being BLOCKED OFF BY OTHER U-HAULS. When i asked the Rep about the vans that weren't blocked, she said "Those aren't registered for mobile pickup". Finally I gave up and asked for a refund. 2 hours of my time wasted on this nasty humid night and the customer support did not help one bit. When I was here last time during day hours the workers were extremely unhelpful and just dreaded being there. Not surprised the quality of this place hasnt changed. The U-Haul app is also horribly slow and all over the place/doesn't work half the time. Heres a photo of what the parking lot looked like."
"I bought some boxes then returned to pick up a truck. I reserved/rented a truck through U-hauls online services. It was very straight forward. The process was easy to reserve. I arrived at the facility after business hours and was still able to easily get our reserved truck from the parking lot. The lockbox area was easy to find. Overall experience was 10/10. Loved that I could do everything myself through the U-Haul app."
