"Beautiful windows, inviting people."
"One of Park Slope's best churches architecture wise.. this one is a Protestant chruch."
"This is a really good meeting with really cool people. That is the AA meeting, which is on Friday night at 8:30 p.m.This is called the Park West group(MY FAVORITE MEETING),and my home group. This is on Carroll Street, right below 7th Avenue."
"Following a lengthy and costly renovation, Old First is a spacious and inviting sanctuary with a Reform Church history. A research project into the donors of the stained glass has revealed that some 400+ enslaved people created the wealth and status of the families. Beneath each window, plaques record the names of those known, and the presence of those whose names were unrecorded. Pastor Cheri is a passionate leader bringing purpose and inspiration to a historic Christian beacon."
"If you're looking for a place to praise the lord, this is not it. I understand everyone has their own political opinion but the church is not the setting. The comparison of scripture to president elect should not take up 30 minutes of the sermon. Save that discussion for your own private time. Church is about praising the lord and thanking the father for our body and spirit and how we can live in his glory not on presidential nominees. I was highly discouraged as I just moved here and finding a church has not been the best experience. Also did not help the pastor started off his sermon with a quote from Adolf Hitler. Beautiful church but very ugly vibes."
