"At first, I was like, "I don't remember going here!". But totally did."
"Beautiful orange yellow foliage during autumn. Also some of the houses are museums. In the summer time there are usually activities on the lawn."
"This beautiful park that used to house those officers that ran the island when it was a military installation (first US Army and later US Coast Guard) was and remains one of the favorite places I've ever camped. For a few years it was tradition to allow those human powered boaters (paddlers and rowers) who attended City of Water Day and arrived via their own power, to camp overnight. The spots on the island changed but two different years we got to stay here. It is an amazing, almost haunted, quiet---and since it is quiet in the middle of NYC---rather surreal place to pitch a tent."
"DRAWDOWN SOLUTIONS workshop hosted at Governors Island Plant Trees (trees have this amazing ability to absorb Carbon Dioxide and would break it down into sugars) Plant Seeds for the Bees Plant Flowers for the Bees Invest in Plant Rich Diet Invest in Solar Powered Electricity instead of depending on the FOSSIL FUEL Animal Agriculture is the Leading Cause of the Triggered and Unnatural Climate Change Stop investing your MONEY in LANDFILLS Wean off the PLASTICS and take STAND against the Food Industries that package everything in PLASTICS TAKE stand against PLASTICS I DO NOT WANT TO SWIM OR SURF IN THE OCEANS FULL OF MICRO-PLASTICS Choose ASPIRATION Bank, NOT Chase Bank for an example because Aspiration bank do NOT invest our money in all the wrong things that cause harm to us: our money would not go to the fossil fuels and our funds would be donated to organizations/charities to take a strong stand against the immorality of the bad judgements/calls made by the politics and such and such— read about the ASPIRATION before you decide to make the switch.
