"Historic place with brilliant views of the Manhattan skyline! The museum is great and provides a unique view into the history of immigration to the United States. Must visit for anyone who wants a taste of Americana"
"For a place that has such a seminal influence on the development of the US, Ellis Island is underwhelming. It starts with a lovely 30-minute film that does a great job of relating what it was like for those millions of immigrants. But then it loses its way. There's no clear floor through it and the exhibition is out of date. It should be far more interactive to grab the attention of everyone, particularly the young. The highlight of the visit was that film and of course the ferry ride there and back to lower Manhattan."
"The Museum was fantastic- 10/10. Deep in history, easy to navigate, and big enough to space out the large crowds. The boat ride experience was the worst part. Prepare yourself for long wait times standing under the hot sun and with a bunch of people cutting in front of you and pushing at every moment!!! Go in the afternoon for a less crowded boat back."
"What a great place for everyone from around the world to visit. Do the 30 minute movie first. We did a guided tour called the hard hat tour. Five thumbs up. The history laid out here is honest and bares the truth of immigration in America. The Ranger Tour was also five star. If on your own start on the second floor, then the third floor, and then do the first floor exhibits. We spent 4 hours exploring only ellis island."
