"This church includes a Social Tabletop Gaming Club which is open on the last Saturday of the month, 10 am to 8 pm. There is a mural on the wall of the church, usually, we see mother Mary with a baby, but this mural is a bearded man carrying a baby. Maybe, Jesus carrying a ship."
"Great little church at 69 Madison in Chinatown. They have two services; an English service at 9:30 and a Mandarin service at 11:00. English service is more contemporary with a relaxed feel and great music whereas the Mandarin service is traditional and follows a more ridged schedule. You will definitely be made to feel very welcome with a cup of coffee and some cookies when you arrive. Their current pastors (both English and Mandarin) recently retired, have been blessed with two pastors who were willing to oversee the programs on a part time basis. Great things in store... join us and see."
"I worked at the summer program many moons ago when I was a college student. I really enjoyed working with the kids and the administration was, as I can recall, helpful and supportive. I would recommend any college student to take a summer to work here. As far as I remember, it was one summer in my life I still recall and am fond of. Great kids!"
"The vibrant children program in the monthly gathering of AlphaKids that open to all the children in the neighborhood with worship, singing, dancing and group activities. Lot of children from the new immigrants’ families enjoy and look forward to be there for learning and community. Thank God for the people in this church."
"CUMC supports many services for the surrounding the community, including Mei Wah After School, Schoolbags for Kids (which distributes school supplies to children in need) , D15:4 (which provides sleeping bags and care packages to the local homeless population), and free immigration legal clinics (in partnership with Justice for Our Neighbors). The music and messages are really engaging, but I find the most attractive thing about CUMC is the community that cares so much about the neighborhood."
