As the second-largest law enforcement agency in the county, the Hudson County Sheriff's Office comprises over 300 skilled personnel, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our community. Our responsibilities are vast and varied, ranging from maintaining order in county courthouses and parks to assisting local municipal police departments and safeguarding judicial proceedings for a population exceeding 750,000 residents.

Our operations run 24/7, with highly trained officers and civilians who are experts in the field of law enforcement. We offer a wide array of services, including support for motor vehicle accidents, municipal transportation, task force operations, and handling public gatherings. Our specialized units, such as S.W.A.T., fatal crash investigation teams, and K-9 units trained in explosive and narcotics detection, are always ready to respond to critical situations.

Additionally, the Sheriff's Office manages process service, writs, court orders, foreclosures, court executions, and criminal warrant arrests, playing a crucial role in upholding justice in Hudson County.

We are proud to have initiated the use of body-worn cameras as of April 1, 2022, enhancing transparency and accountability within our force. By the end of June 2022, all uniformed officers were equipped with these cameras, ensuring their visibility and utility in daily operations.
