About the Mercer Labs
Welcome to Mercer Labs: The Museum of Art and Technology
Located at 21 Dey Street in the heart of Manhattan, New York, Mercer Labs is a groundbreaking museum that redefines the intersection of art and technology. Co-founded by visionary artist and creative director Roy Nachum and esteemed entrepreneur Michael Cayre, Mercer Labs is a hub for innovation, creativity, and inclusivity.
At Mercer Labs, we celebrate the pioneering work of Roy Nachum, an experimental artist renowned for his interdisciplinary approach that spans painting, sculpture, architecture, installation, and technology. Nachum's art is characterized by its interactive nature, featuring elements such as Braille and the iconic image of a child with a gold crown—a symbol of diversity, humility, and equality. His work invites viewers to engage with art in a tactile way, fostering awareness and inclusivity, particularly for those with visual impairments.
Through fifteen experimental exhibition spaces, Mercer Labs offers immersive installations, interactive experiences, and unique listening encounters that challenge traditional boundaries. Here, technology becomes a tool for artistic expression, inviting visitors to become an integral part of the artwork. The museum serves as a platform for collaboration between artists, bridging the gap between art and science, and humanizing technology.
Roy Nachum, an alumnus of The Cooper Union in New York, has contributed to significant public and private art collections worldwide. His innovative spirit extends beyond Mercer Labs, as he is also a co-founder of Midtown Equities and Casa Cipriani, showcasing his leadership in luxury experiences, philanthropy, and community transformation.

Reviews of Mercer Labs
"Went yesterday and absolutely loved it! Was a little leery because of some reviews and then the price point, but it was awesome. Haven't ever seen anything like it. The pics don't do it justice. The artist is really incredible. Don't skip the least interactive part of the show where you watch the film about his paintings. We almost did. Such a cool story. They offer military discount at the door. No need to buy tickets in advance. Have fun!"
"I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent here, with every visual and sound adding to an amazing experience. It’s an excellent immersive adventure, perfect for groups. The infinite display and the ball pit are particularly awesome, and the overall tech/art vibe is fantastic. The cleanliness is impressive, thanks to the shoe covers provided before entry, making it suitable for all ages. I especially loved Pneumatic Transmission and Archetype."
"Very interesting / psychedelic experience, not something I’d do again unless it was cheaper. One of the rooms was closed when I went (“the line”). The mirrored room in the basement has an overwhelming dead rat smell (… NYC basement for you I guess) but it was gross did not get to enjoy that room. The last room also had a slight stench but not as bad as that mirrored room. Oh & $9 carbonated waters were decent but definitely not worth $9 (& they put a flower in it.. probably wouldn’t pass food safety inspection but it’s an experience lol)"
"I just went this week came all the way up from Orlando and it was great! Super impressive and great for photos. The people who came up with this bravo. I loved the message in the bottle room was my favorite but honestly it was cool. That sound room was such an experience if you close your eyes and really just think what the artist was thinking was Awesome. Will come again with friends and family next time"
"This was one of the most incredible experiences. It really defies words for describing it. The visuals were stunning. The interactive exhibits were fun. I really enjoyed 4D sound and The Dragon. The whole tour took us about 2 hours. We weren't in a hurry and definitely took our time lingering about. The flower room made for great photos. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's no food or drinks allowed in. They will check your bags and make you get rid of any food or drinks before you come in. If you're in the area, this is well worth the cost of admission."
