Our Facilities
AIC is strategically located at a bustling transportation junction, surrounded by schools and shopping centers, making it a vital hub for the hundreds of Muslim immigrants in the area. Our center is housed in the basement of two retail stores and can accommodate approximately 400 worshippers, with separate prayer areas for brothers and sisters. Despite the space constraints, we have maximized the utility of our current facilities, which include:
- Prayer halls with a total occupancy of nearly 600 Mussalies.
- Fully operating kitchen, 13 wudu stations, and 3 bathrooms.
- Dedicated rooms for youth, families, and children, equipped with bathroom facilities.
- Educational classrooms and a main hall for community gatherings.

Reviews of Arafa Islamic Center
"There was 3 minutes left for ishraq prayer but they kicked us out"
"This is a great mosque. As a youth in the community it’s great that the administration (The secretary president etc) are catering to the youth to build a center for them. Everyone feels like family. The building is beautiful and I look forward to it being finished. However my one criticism is for some of the older uncles who volunteer that treat the youth extremely poorly as if they are second class citizens. This is not only a complaint from me but from many of the other youth in this mosque. If you volunteer for the sake of allah that’s great but that gives nobody the power or control over anybody no matter the age. Everyone deserves to be treated with mutual respect. One example is when I came off the train after school to eat iftar at the mosque. Two older uncles who volunteer were guiding people to sit down in organized rows. As I had come off the train I decided i would wash up and do whudu so i was making my way towards the back to the whudu area. One uncle began screaming at me and another grabbed my arm to push me towards the rows. I was flabbergasted and I told them i was simply going to make whudu. Realizing their mistake they just giggled and let me go. I’ve also seen these same older volunteers disrespect other youth who were trying to help out for absolutely no reason. If any of the administration are seeing this you know who these guys are, please let some of these older volunteers know that just because they are volunteering and are older in age that it does not give them the right to boss the youth around and treat them like animals for no reason. THESE kind of people drive the youth AWAY from the mosque. Please address this. I’m still giving 5 Stars because those who are running the mosque are trying their hardest and are doing and amazing job to build a beautiful mosque with a wonderful community."
"Beautiful masjid, inside and out."
"Alhamdulillah very beautiful masjid can’t wait till the construction finishes. Arapha should start allowing Janaza prayers. Needs to host Janaza."
"Nobody doing it like Arafaaaaa!!! Masjid Al-Arpha stands as a remarkable testament to the beauty and significance of Islamic architecture and spiritual sanctity. Nestled amidst the bustling streets, its majestic Turkish wall design beckon worshippers and visitors alike, inviting them into a realm of tranquility and devotion. One cannot help but be struck by the sheer grandeur of Masjid Al-Arpha's design. Combining the classic designs from mosques in history and combining it with modern designs. From its intricately adorned façade to the elegant calligraphy that adorns its walls, every aspect of the mosque exudes a sense of reverence and awe. The craftsmanship displayed in its construction speaks volumes about the dedication and skill of the artisans who brought it to life.Stepping inside Masjid Al-Arpha is akin to entering a sanctuary of peace and serenity. The soft glow of the moon through the glass windows casts a warm ambiance over the prayer hall, while the gentle scent of incense lingers in the air, heightening the senses and inviting introspection. The focal point of the mosque is undoubtedly its breathtaking prayer hall. Stretching out beneath a vast dome adorned with intricate geometric patterns, it provides a space for worshippers to come together in communal prayer and reflection. The rhythmic recitation of the Quran fills the air, creating a sense of unity and spiritual connection among those present.Beyond its architectural splendor, Masjid Al-Arpha serves as a vibrant hub of community life. From educational programs to charitable initiatives, it plays a central role in enriching the lives of its members and fostering a sense of belonging among them. The mosque's doors are open to all, regardless of background or belief, welcoming visitors to experience the beauty of Islam firsthand. In addition to its spiritual significance, Masjid Al-Arpha also holds cultural and historical importance. Its rich heritage reflects centuries of Islamic tradition and heritage, serving as a beacon of faith and resilience in the face of adversity. Once you enter you feel like you are family. As such, it stands not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of the enduring power of faith to unite and inspire. In conclusion, Masjid Al-Arpha is a truly exceptional institution that embodies the best of Islamic architecture, spirituality, and community. Its beauty, significance, and sense of welcoming make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to experience the richness of Islamic culture in New York firsthand. Whether you are a devout Muslim or simply a curious traveler, a visit to Masjid Al-Arpha is sure to leave a lasting impression on your heart and mind."
