"I don’t like the customer service at all. The teller had an attitude and barely wanted to do anything at all. All I asked was can I take out x amount out of my account and she wouldn’t let me take out nothing but $25 because she didn’t see the mobile funds I added via check and didn’t explain this is the worst branch don’t apply for no debit or credit just avoid this branch has much of possible u will regret"
"M&T Bank touts itself as having branches up and down the East Coast. I have had an account in Reading, PA for the last 20 years. I found myself in Newark in February 2020 (before the pandemic) and I needed to make a cash withdrawal of approximately $1,200.00. The experience was surreal. The teller was very suspicious of me and said words to the effect of "You're not a customer of mine. I've never seen you before." I presented a check and my PA driver's license and the teller took both and proceeded to a back room for approximately 15 minutes. Meanwhile, a heavyset security got up from his chair and stood behind me while the brilliant teller was examining my driver's license and check. I started worrying that I was in the movie Idiocracy and that I was going to be arrested for trying to withdraw money from my own bank. In short, the teller and security guard made me feel like a criminal. I would recommend M&T Bank--and this branch in particular--to no one. What's the use of having branches all over the place if you get treated like this?"
