"Horrible experience trying to get my account opened and functioning so I could access my money. I opened this account on 01/20/2018 at the Astoria, NY branch. I was not given a temporary card as the system was defective at the time and the banking rep who opened my account informed me I would have to wait 7-10 business days to get the debit/ATM card in the mail. That was the first mistake. As such, I had no access to my account until the card arrived in the mail. Problem is that took over 10+ days! Second mistake. My fiancee, who also opened an account on the same day did receive her bank card in the mail. However, I did not. We are at the same address. I do not know why I did not receive mine and she receive hers since we opened it the same day and have the same address. After 11 days, I did receive the card but it was enclosed in two envelopes. It appears Flushing Bank screwed up and the card was mailed from the PO Box 9000 East Meadow location to the Uniondale NY 220 RXR PLZ address for some idiotic reason. It was then sent in a second envelope to my home address. Too late. I already opened an account at the TD Bank on Broadway. Took 30 minutes. Got my debit/ATM card the same day. Choose my own PIN number and checked it on the ATM before departing. That is how a bank should operate. Afterwards, I initiated the transfer of the opening deposit OUT of Flushing Bank to my external bank. I will close this account since it has proven unsatisfactory and unreliable. Flushing Bank service is unacceptable and I will no longer waste time with such sub standard service. When I opened accounts with TD and Chase I was given bank cards the same day at the branch without excuses or extended delays. 11 days is pathetic."
