Reviews of TD Bank
"I used to rave about TD Bank when they were open 24/7, I wore a suit and worked in the FiDi. Now that I’m working part time, much of it remote in upper Manhattan, this is the closest and WORST TD Bank I have ever done business with since I opened 2 accounts 14 years ago. The bank frequently has two out of three ATMs down, so there’s a queue in the foyer to get to an ATM. Once there you’ve wasted 15 minutes and you notice that it only accepts check deposits and not cash - for a month. As far as I’m aware none of the ATMs accepted deposits at this branch from 11/11/23 to 1/8/24. Further it is staffed by non-empathetic, unhelpful, even rude uneducated people. I seriously needed to make a cash deposit on Friday 1/5/24 when the bank closed at six. I got there at 5:20 pm and I had to wait in line to make a withdrawal from the only two ATMs working. So I stood in line until 5:40, withdrew $200 from another source (paid TD $6.00 for this “privilege” only to then realize the ATM would not take my cash deposit. By then it was 5:45 PM and the petty tyrant security guard would not admit me to the lobby where other although the branch website and signs say it’s open till 6. I knocked on the doors pleading to be let in to make a deposit and avoid almost $170 in TD bank fees. But the security guard ignored me and hurt me as he shut the door, bumping my nose. I knocked harder. The managers looked up but would not let me in. It is 10 minutes till TD official closing. But no. A manager yelled, we are out of bills. I held up 200 dollars in bills and said that I must deposit these. She ignored me and sat down to talk with a colleague. Avoid this bank if you can. It is in Washington Heights and TD has closed hundreds of banks so that just getting to that branch was a long subway trip. I had to spend more money on a longer ride to the only other bank ATM lobby open in all of Manhattan after six - Times Square, a place New Yorkers avoid. I deposited the $200 and tried hard not to stew over spending $6 to withdraw my own money and $15 for the combined subway trips. IS THIS America’s MOST CONVENIENT or is this simply human (in the most negative way)? I believe TD discriminates against low income, moderate threat after dark neighborhoods - esp at this 3798 Broadway Bank. TD says it is “America’s Most Convenient Bank.” My evidence that TD Bank treats different neighborhoods differently is that once when I worked on Wall Street I had to get in before and ran. It was 5 till 6 and they let me in. So why the disparate treatment of Americans in different neighborhoods? TD Bank is Toronto based, so maybe they do not share the values of treating people with differing incomes and colors with equality or respect. I’ve noticed that while TD Banks used to almost always be open, even very late, they did this to fool us. Now they have us and they cut back hours and services year after year until they are no different than any other mediocre bank. Below is the bank, the manager that ignored me after she said they were low on bills and I kindly begged 5/24 Addendum: I have almost always had excellent experiences with using the bank’s phone app. I’ve had such nice experiences calling the bank at any time (used to be called TD ASAP) to dispute fraudulent charges or services and loans that were never actually provided. Their responsiveness and kindness has astonished me and forced me to re-evaluate TD Bank as a whole. I give the whole bank 4 STARS - just not this neglected Washington Heights branch."
"I think this place has a contract with ex prisoners or conflict persons because. Each one of them act like if they are at home and behave so bad and the dress code it’s a mess and chewing gum ,,it remind me a tv show"
"Spent 45 Minutes waiting while people who came in after me have been getting taken care of. All of Them are walk-ins while I had an appointment. I literally was just coming for a debit card and I had to watch everyone be taken care of before me. Some even came for the same reason. Slowest employees and most disorganized employees. Either take us by order or stop telling half of us to Check in through the system and the other half to wait in life if some of us had to wait longer for nothing. Hire new people"
"The corporate office (senior leadership) MUST do something about this branch. The customer service at this location is the worst I have ever experienced in my many years of banking. The lack of professionalism and incompetence is unmatched at this branch. My last two visits to the branch have been unpleasant from two different employees (a customer service representative and a teller). When I asked to speak to a customer service representative, the reason for my visit was yelled across the room. The male teller lacks customer service experience and should NOT be working with people. Moving forward I will conduct my business downtown where I am treated with respect. TD Bank needs to conduct an investigation on this branch."
"EXTREMELY RACIST ! Talks about you in Spanish cuz they think you don’t know Spanish. They give you the wrong information. How don’t you know about your own job. Don’t tell Me yes and then when I go they say no. They shouldn’t be talking in Spanish to eachother only the customers."
