"I want to apologize to the mothers for posting so late in regards to this daycare. My daughter was about a year old when I enrolled her. She was there for literally a day and a half. The first day I watched the camera all day and I constantly saw when the teachers would give a face when I would text the app with my concerns. There were 2 teachers and one was not really affectionate or comforting as a teacher should be especially dealing with infants. Anyways as the day went on I saw one of The teachers run out I guess for lunch and at some point came back in. My daughter was standing near the doorway and the teacher smacked my daughter to the floor- my daughter was crying and she just Picked her up and placed her by the toys. No comforting or anything. I still brought her back the 2nd day but picked her up midday bc all she was doing was crying unless she was being held. I immediately terminated my contract and voiced my concerns to Dani. She assured she would address it and allowed me to leave without paying additional. Thsi daycare is a no go! Do not enroll your child in this daycare !!!!!!!!"
"2 stars because it was good until it wasn't. We were fortunate enough to have some of the most caring, loving teachers for quite a while. We have a great relationship with most. However, there have been ISSUES. The first issue was in late 2023. The Learning Care Group sent out their compliance individual Kandy who humiliated my child in front of everyone about her packed lunch from home. We were given the OK prior to this incident so I did not under stand why she was not allowed to have a packed lunch. I was able to speak with her teacher at the time who reassured me that she made sure my child was ok and we spoke about what was needed. I got a doctor note to bring in food - nonspecific to allergy or diet. It was provided and accepted. The second issue came beginning of 2024 when my child had an allergic reaction at home and was given Benadryl at Tutor Time - Or really, was not when she should have. Their kitchen staff who is cross trained stated to me upon picking up my child that her ear was swollen, puffy and red and "was telling everyone about her ear" while laughing and smiling...Yet nothing was done and he chocked it up to her earring?? I asked why he didn't do or say anything and his response was "I can't interfere". How an employee of that caliber cannot instantly think injury, allergy or infection is just beyond me and also to not interfere? - Unacceptable. I should have called the state then but I did not. Instead I addressed it with the director who said she talked to all staff about interjecting in the event of an allergic reaction. In April 2024 Tutor Time lost a lot of staff including my child's teacher and assistant teacher. That was a big loss for not only my child but all the children in the class. The individual hired in the teachers place never introduced herself, is not personable at all, has misery written all over her face, is rude to other children, takes advantage of her place of authority and just in general absolutely should not be working with children of any age with her demeanor. The last and final issue occurred May 2024. The same compliance individual Kandy came in and again humiliated my child in front of staff and students. That night my child came home with a bento box full of food (she was provided school lunch). MY CHILD had to tell me everything that happened. From the way Kandy smiled at her that made her uncomfortable, to the way she yelled and also a picture was taken but we weren't sure of what? When I asked for the director to call me, I didn't receive a call. When I went to drop off my child and I, very upset, asked the teacher why she wasn't given her lunch, instead of calming me, explaining what happened and giving me an idea of the situation, she became defensive, didn't give any explanation and told me if I was going to continue to talk to the with the same attitude she was giving me, I could talk to the director...who was not there. I was able to speak with another trusted employee who told me what happened and that is when MANY questions came up. I left after informing them I would be calling the state and quickly realized I could never leave my child in the care of that teacher ever again with the way she handled that situation along with the other problems with her and the location itself. I immediately pulled her from the program. The state did investigate and they were cited for a few things. I never did receive a call back from The Learning Care Group. I filled out their survey they sent asking why my child was withdrawn from the program without a follow up. The Learning Care Group in general seems to not care very much about the experiences and issues occurring in their facilities along with the way their employees are handling situations. This specific Tutor Time has gone down hill extremely fast. The best of the best with the exception of 1 are all gone. There are many violations on their record. They have also been in jeopardy of revocation as it states on the DOCF website. PLEASE do your research and PLEASE speak up for your babies the first time."
"It is really hard to believe the bad reviews I read. There has to be more to the story. My son has been attending since 2021 and I believe that’s the year they first opened. My son is a child with special needs and he is not the easiest to deal with. Dani the director and the staff has done everything they could to help accommodate my son in every way possible and they put up with my son’s screams and other extreme behaviors but handled them in the most professional manner, nurturing and patience, everyone is amazing there. I am so grateful for all of their support they’ve given me throughout this process because I know it could be very challenging. I’m a single mom and I appreciate everything they did for him. I highly recommend bringing your child for care, homework help and a lot of other great activities. The place is beautiful, clean and always tastefully decorated for every holiday."
"IF THERE WAS A ZERO IT WOULD GET THAT! My grand daughter attended Tutor Time in Middle Island twice. My daughter, who works overnights, witnessed a second rate - second teacher in Ms. Mariah's class slap a little boys hand away as he reached out to touch her. She said that it was disturbing and didn't think to say something in the moment. it prompted her to monitor the situation on the live feed. she witnessed her 18mo old daughter be mushed in the face as she reached for the same teacher. Twice, not once. A child is the most fragile, vulnerable group of people. She barely has 20 words in her vocabulary. After the incident - my grand daughter was taken out of the room for several minutes OFF CAMERA. PEOPLE - BRING YOUR KIDS HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! NO Courtney R. your response to my daughters review does not suffice. And I noticed the same generic response to every dissatisfied customer on GOOGLE OR YELP. You should be ashamed of yourself! We were told you would reach out to us. Thete would be an investigation- and you didn't! Your response to her review was NOT - "Aaliyah you will be glad to know this teacher was terminated immediately!" Instead - you said "call is if you want to talk." I called Friday to speak with the assistant director Dani who was appropriately apologetic. But no one called me back.. TUTOR TIME IN MIDDLE ISLAND IS A ⛔️ DANGER TO CHILDREN!"
"Everything was OK when my son started, he was thriving, potty training and happy, but then one of the teachers Ms Gina left and another teacher replaced her. Since Ms Christine took over the class my son hated it,he screamed to go in her class and I told the director not to put him in that class but I would get excuses that they didn't have enough teachers. My son started to regress from potty training, started have nightmares and acting out violently in the class. When I mentioned to the director my concerns, instead of investigating, them both my children was dismissed from the program. My soon to be four year old still have those nightmares and screams to go the the bathroom at home and at his new school. He is currently in therapy to help him feel comfortable to use the bathroom again. I would never recommend Tutor Time Middle Island. I'm hoping that therapy helps my son and get to the bottom of why my son is afraid of the bathroom."
